In my story, I will share with you the memories of my ancient Soul, which reincarnated on this planet for several lifetimes.

Set the Mood with RAUB!

This week, RAUB took on the challenge of crafting his own version of an opening set. A challenge, indeed—something that always excites him, as it highlights the complexity and artistry involved in setting the night in motion.

For RAUB, a perfect opening set is both a duty and an honor. It sets the tone for the night, inviting people to dance while guiding them from their daily routines into a deeper, immersive experience. An opening set is not about immediate impact but about building a foundation—balancing energy, patience, and hypnotic progression.

Hailing from Arnhem, DJ and producer RAUB is driven by a relentless pursuit of balance between dub techno, raw basslines, and infectious grooves. Spending countless hours in the studio, he refines a sound that is deeply rooted in the past while pushing toward the future of techno.

For this set, the usual high BPM was set aside in favor of a carefully measured flow, requiring a delicate equilibrium between pacing and hypnotic depth. The priority was not just creating a moment but shaping an atmosphere—one that unfolds gradually, drawing listeners into the journey. And, of course, enjoying the process is essential. After all, when the DJ is immersed in the music, the crowd will follow.
