Jamie Stevens and Zankee Gulati collaborate on the impressive ëThe Ripí EP with remix support coming from Argentina under the sign of Paul Deep. 

Jamie needs little introduction, a stalwart of the Aussie prog scene since the ë90s and prominent member of Infusion, his golden touch has affected 100s of records over the years culminating in a whos who of releases on seminal labels such as Bedrock, Balance Music and Coldharbour Recordings. 

Zankee Gulati broke on to the scene in 2011 and is making a real name for himself in Sydneyís thriving clubland. A DJ and promoter primarily, his talents are now branching out to production. With releases on The Soundgarden, Balance Music and more, his distinctive sound is being to reach an international audience. 

Opening with ëThe Ripí a tough mid set groove wastes no time reaching an early crescendo, where vocal chops and a wobbly synth line light up the floor. ëUtvecklaí keeps up the pace with a low slung vibe with warm melodic flourishes perfect for the summer months. 

On remix duties, Paul Deep turns in two contrasting reimaginations. Firstly, the ëBasement Remixí takes us in a late night direction. Focusing on a hypnotic groove, the melodics act as layers of percussion all pointing towards a heads down stompathon. The ëTerrace Remixí sees Pauls lighter side; bouncy and joyous.

September 2023 saw Lisandro release the magical 3-track "Eclectic" on Proton Music, showcasing the Argentinean's production talents first evident on 2022's "Traditions". Now returning to the EP, remixes from Argentinean artists continue the story.

Making their label debut, PAAX (Tulum) have been at the forefront of the progressive and organic house scene with a vibrant sound that flows "through the Mexican land creating music from the soul". Using a combination of organic instruments and electronic textures, German Wagener and Nicolas Damonte are Argentinean producers who have pushed the envelope of sound design and traditional dance music for more than 15 years. Half-a-million monthly Spotify listeners and between 5 and 8 million streams for the likes of "Epico", "Ritual" and "Sera El Sol", has seen the duo become a force to be reckoned with on labels such as Stealth Records (Armada), trndmsk, Sol Selectas and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden. Reworking the title track, the PAAX (Tulum) remix transforms "Eclectic" into a wonderful beatless landscape in the early stages that borrows elements from Lisandro's original and transforms them into an enchanted soundscape. Combined with a wealth of additional production material, the track builds before a rhythmic structure is introduced at the 2-minute mark. Full of vitality and driving energy, a tapestry of intertwined melodies and arpeggio cross over each other while a sublime bassline groove and pulsating synth line add further gravitas. The result is a stunning interpretation.

An accomplished DJ from an early age, Paul Deep has gone on to perform regularly across his Argentinean home. In tandem, a successful production career has seen work for Sound Avenue, Clubsonica Records and Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music propel the Buenos Aires based artist to the upper echelons of the progressive house scene. September 2022's "Orchid" EP saw a powerful 3-track debut captivate the Proton Music audience with its beautifully themed music. Now returning after an April 2023 remix of fellow countryman's Juan Deminicis' "Cycles", the Paul Deep interpretation of "Journey" is infused with a wonderful deep vibe and groove. Additional production work in the shape of hefty beat and rolling percussive top-line, has left space for the melodies so prominent in the original, to shine and flow easily alongside a raft of additional production material from the Paul Deep studio.

Through a pair of diverse remixes with influences from central and southern America, Lisandro and his "Eclectic" EP have travelled in exciting new directions.

Deception is the act of convincing one or many recipients of untrue information. The person creating the deception knows it to be false while the receiver of the message has a tendency to believe it (although it is not always the case).[1] It is often done for personal gain or advantage.[2][3] Deception can involve dissimulation, propaganda and sleight of hand as well as distraction, camouflage or concealment. There is also self-deception. It can also be called, with varying subjective implications, beguilement, deceit, bluff, mystification, ruse, or subterfuge.

Deception is a major relational transgression that often leads to feelings of betrayal and distrust. Deception violates relational rules and is considered to be a negative violation of expectations. Most people expect friends, relational partners, and even strangers to be truthful most of the time. If people expected most conversations to be untruthful, talking and communicating with others would require distraction and misdirection to acquire reliable information. A significant amount of deception occurs between some romantic and relational partners.[4]

Exclusive Active Child 'Johnny Belinda (MDK Remix)'

Active Child's tune 'Johnny Belinda' gets the remix treatment from Dutch electronic music legend Matthew Dekay The producer has been responsible for one of Innervisions' biggest hits, 'Lost In A Moment', and also produced the groundbreaking EP 'Amity' including the summer hit 'Fangtango' on Maeve. With his remix for Active Child's track 'Johnny Belinda' Dekay once again proves his ability to turn an original track into his own piece of work. Melodic melancholic synth chords shape the body of MDK's remix approach and are set with a reserved bass line that fully unfolds its punch as the remix proceeds. But it certainly is the vocal that puts its mark on the track and Dekay manages to make the interaction between the vocals and soundscapes sound so easy. 

Active Child's EP 'Johnny Belinda Remixes' will be released April 30th, 2018 on Subtract Music.
