Written in response to a local singer/songwriter (Andy J) saying, “Pick a phrase you like and write a song!”  I'd been talking about how difficult I found writing songs.

Just Do It

A song about a pile of sand in Cornwall!  Mentioned in a previous song (Atlantic Highway), the Doom Bar is my favourite windsurfing spot.  There are so many stories about this pile of sand, fact & myth, that I had to write this song. An atempt at a sea shanty?

A song about feeling 'on the edge' of life, but also about being 'on the edge' of so much more?
Being optimistic, I have tried to end the song on an uplifting note?

Burning Down

I heard a news report about an Olympic hopeful missing a third random drug test, and facing not being able to compete. The first verse came very quickly.  Faster Higher Stronger is the Olympic motto, but striving to achieve success can have an unhealthy aspect?  However, although I wanted to air the negatives, I do believe in the positives of seeing how much can be acieved - hence the upbeat feeling of the song.
