We continue our 3rd Anniversary series of music podcasts from both new and promising and established artists from all over the world. This new mix is presented by one of the major producers in the field of dark instrumental trap sound, a Russian musician named CHVRN (pronounced Charn). The artist released a plenty of tracks that are internationally successful, inspiring a huge number of beginning producers.

In this music selection, CHVRN shared with you not only viscous and oily aesthetics of his personal works, but also a wide range of various sonic moods. This mix includes cloud-rap, future garage, glitch-hop and ambient techno music. The music podcast creates a nostalgic and dreamy atmosphere at first, and then breaks it with an aura of tension and ambiguity. The CHVRN’s selection combines a club mix qualities with those of a home listening mixtape. Then the podcast ends with a track that signifies the beginning of morning time in the digital city our visual and audio aesthetics, the digital city of IMMINENT art collective.

Drones and Efek Walpurgis present… liquid breaks for the end of days! Six tracks ranging from midtempo lounge drumfunk to apocalyptic industrial acid, with detours through various nineties and aughts electronic scenes, repurposed here as a tributory collage of the artists’ forgotten and misremembered pasts. These tracks mark the beginning of a collaboration between the two New-York-via-London producers — though produced separately, the tracks were mixed and sequenced cooperatively, and hearken a new direction for both artists, whose backgrounds range from experimental acousmatics to (anti)social party muzak. Released on cassette for maximum cognitive dissonance, “(source:code)” is pure HAUNTOLOGITECHNO for fans of the Prodigy, Pierce Brosnan-era Bond, and the Xerox mind that never jams.
