Founded in 1995 Renegade Hardware has been at the forefront of pioneering the techstep and neurofunk sound and is regarded as one of the most influential labels in Drum & Bass.

With a history expanding almost 30 years, the label was the gateway to some of the scenes leading artists of today, such as Loxy & Ink, Chase & Status, Friction, Noisia, Spor, Audio, Phace, Calyx & Teebee, Konflict, Prolix, to name a few, gracing its historic back catalogue.

In 2016, after more than two decades at the forefront of the scene, Renegade Hardware announced its closure. The label's final chapter was marked by a series of releases and farewell events that brought together fans, artists, and industry insiders to pay tribute to its legacy. 

Fast forward to the present, and with a complete reshape, Renegade Hardware returns with the highly anticipated remix album “From The Vaults”, which features an eclectic mix of future artists who have reimagined some of the most iconic tracks from Renegade Hardware's historic back catalogue.

Over two decades since its release, Konflict’s ‘Messiah’ continues to be celebrated as a Drum & Bass classic and is widely regarded as one of the greatest tracks ever written within the Drum & Bass realm. Only 2 artists have had the honour to remix this track - Noisia & Spor. Now, the Anglo-Russian duo Magnetude takes up the mantle, presenting their eagerly anticipated remix that takes listeners on an electrifying adventure. While paying homage to Konflict's original brilliance, Magnetude infuse their unmistakable, high-octane dancefloor energy and signature call-and-response dynamics, breathing new life into this timeless masterpiece.

And yes, I did say it to myself, in my head, after listening to it over and over again; but the fact remains and it is what it is. The Critical Music signed drum & bass producer, Emperor’s'She Said VIP’ – which will be exclusively available from the Critical store this Monday – is superlatively frenetic, heaving it’s way out of the rousing build up introduction with the sort of lurching industrial bassline that’ll set most dancefloors afire. The full Into Black EP will be released on vinyl and digital this coming Monday, but we’re toasting the publication of the EP’s pre-order link here today because it ties in nicely with the fact that we recently announced the next Critical Sound date (10th July) where you’ll be able to witness Emperor going B2B with The Upbeats.
