TEDxCowes speaker Rolf-Ørjan Høgset is going to sail his boat from Norway to Cowes to be in person at the event. Quite a substantial trip across the North Sea in this Autumn season. He'll keep us posted about the trip, stay tuned!

TEDxSpeaker Vincent Doumeizel tells us why we are still in the Stone Age in the way we use the Ocean resources.
Our civilsation evolved from the stone age when we learned first to farm crops, and then to use crops to feed animals.
In the Ocean we are doing it the other way around, starting from farming animals and feeding them with land-produced food, instead of farming seaweed.
This is not only an interesting perspective, but a powerful statement to rethink the way we look at Ocean farming and move into seaweed farming.
As citizens we can have our say by accepting and consuming seaweed related food.

Every single day they collect 3 to 5 tons of plastic and rubbish from the coasts of Norway. And they sort all of it in 3 big containers.

All the stuff that is recyclable will be recycled. A lot of stuff will need to go through an industrial automated system for fine sorting.
