Tepr sort son deuxième EP « Half below » toujours sur Partyfine, avec le leitmotiv « pop is more » en tête.

Half Below élargit la brèche ouverte par Tepr sur son précédent EP « Hypnotease". Le spectre s’élargit, la House se fait mélodique, les rythmiques se font discrètes mais ne perdent jamais de vue la danse.

La voix est présente, samplé et loopée sur les deux titres les plus pop, « Half Below » et « Whatever », tandis que le reste du EP fait office de face B nocturne, avec deux titres House instrumentaux. Tanguy Destable glisse doucement mais surement vers une Dance music plus pop, où le synthétique et l'analogique se mettent au service de l’écriture.

Tepr sets to release his second EP this year « Half Below », again on Partyfine, with the « pop is more » motto in mind.

Half below broadens the breach Tepr opened with his last EP « Hypnotease ». The spectrum is wider, House becomes melodic, eurythmics more discreet but never lose sight of dance.

The voice is more present, sampled and looped on two tracks more pop, « Half Below » and « Whatever », when the rest of the EP is used as night-time B sides, with two instrumental House tracks. Tangy Destable slowly but surely slides towards a more pop Dance music, where synth and analog put themselves at the service of writing.

Back in the groove after the Bank Holiday and our first fresh premiere of the week comes from MTA Records. The release is a debut EP and a track called 'Forever' from one of their latest signings, the Brighton based producer Braxton.

Braxton quickly caught the attention from BBC Radio 1 tastemakers Pete Tong, MistaJam, Danny Howard as well as international DJs from debut release. He’s generated heat online with his remixes for the likes of Kyla La Grange, Blonde, Chloe Black, Tourist and Grades which have amassed over half a million plays across Soundcloud and YouTube in less than a year.

Hilo (pron. hē-lō) is a soundtrack of transformation, of leaving who one is in order to become who one needs to be.

In 2014, my life was turned upside down when I learned I had been adopted. Everything I thought I knew about my origin was untrue, a fabrication. As an artist, I began to produce music that became an audio description of my life during this experience, from thoughts and feelings of levity and absurdity, to despair and prolapse. All the elevated emotions are documented here.

To make sense of this surprise life turn and thrive, I had to face the experience of dying while being alive, becoming reborn while trying to hold dearly to whom I'd been. All the while, I gave the experiences within my head a voice through music.

Hilo is named for the town and airport on the island of Hawaii where I first landed to meet my birth father's family. All of the tracks here were begun and edited on airplanes and trains, fitting the transformational aspects of this journey.

Art is identity. I couldn't release this album without giving the listener context for it. What you hear is the inner dialogue of adventure, illumination, anxiety, and facing a terrifying yet ultimately beautiful unknown. 

This is my story, but it is also a narrative--as old as Greek mythology--of anyone or group who has faced crisis and survived, emerging galvanized and more spiritually complete.

Allow me to take you on a ride.

Guest vocalist collaborators, John Thornley, Ameer Dyson, Bernard Farley, Rachel Wong, Patrick Baker, Brittany Sims, Alex Tebeleff, and Abbay Misganaw for giving voice to the yearning and searching aspects of these songs. My family and friends, especially Mallory, for priceless feedback and for standing with me throughout the highs and lows of this crazy experience that have came together to form this album.

Approaching Black's Vocal Remix takes off with a blissful atmosphere, in which we witness gorgeous piano stabs, LaMeduza's spell-binding vocals, and lush sound effects. An unmistakably groovy bassline sits perfectly well in the mix, while frisky percussion elements and captivating arpeggio leads combine to create a hypnotizing rhythm.

Introduced by a truly deep and mesmerizing soundscape, Movement Machina's Vocal Remix features an array of brilliant synth structures, intriguing vocal variations, crispy percussion lines, and lush bassline notes.
