Staring At The Rain

Originally formed in Bangkok (Thailand) in 2003, Teenage Prostitute started out as a four-piece band.

Not happy with others being merely involved, but rather looking for the type of insane commitment that he is known for, bandleader and songwriter Patrice decided to go solo. A number of negative reactions to the band name made up his mind to keep it.

Even before its official release, Teenage Prostitute's debut single "Staring At The Rain" was picked up by legendary Thai DJ Suharit Siamwalla for his show on Thailand's indie/underground station Fat Radio.

Shortly after, cult label Panda Records (Bangkok) asked for permission to include the song on its compilation CD "Here Come The Pandas".

After a few rather intense years, earning high acclaim for his live drumming with

Momokomotion (Japan) 
RedTwenty (Bangkok) 
Acid Lily (Japan) 
and the award-winning Neuter Lover (Bangkok),

Mister TeenPro decided to take a break and return to Switzerland for a while. 

He is currently writing and recording new material.

Longing for the warmth of analogue, energy is partially allocated to moving away from exclusively creating digital recordings. The addition of guitars to the soundscape figures high on the band's wishlist. [Interested parties are free to get in touch.]

Whenever Zurich negatively influences the attention span, Teenage Prostitute escapes to a tiny mountain village in the Eastern part of the country, inhaling nothing but his favourite intoxicant: the scent of pine cones.

Listeners and fans generally agree that Teenage Prostitute cannot deny decades of sonic exposure to The Cure, Joy Division, Sisters Of Mercy, Placebo, Siouxsie & The Banshees, as well as countless [other] New Wave and 80s acts. 

Physical separation from his spiritual home Bangkok has made Teenage Prostitute write darker harmonies, darker melodies, and darker lyrics. "Music to slash your wrists to", as one black soul remarked.
