Positivity was written during a six session project with some Year 6 children from Tottington Primary School in Bury and Bury Music Service. The process started where we explored different genres of music so that the children make decisions as to what style their song would be. They also made decisions about structure, style, instrumentation and particularly theme and words. Their final sessions were used to rehearse and record their song.

A wonderful song writing project partnership between St Mary's C. of E. Primary School, Prestwich and Bury Music Service.
This song was written by Y5 children over six sessions in June and July 2023.
We looked at all sorts of genres of music, instrumentation and song structure.
The children had some amazing ideas and created lyrics based on what makes them happy, what makes them sad, how can they celebrate, what do they celebrate and their individual journeys through life. 
In the last sessions the children rehearsed Life's Just a Wave to Navigate and recorded it.
