Mashup Albums

My debut mashup album, filled with 17 unique and original (or slightly inspired) unlikely alliances centered around popular music, internet culture, and memes galore. Perfect for Slim Shadys and Party Rockers alike!

All contents of the album (except the instrumental of Emo Interlude) are remixes/remasters/mashups of other people's work and thus belong to their respective owners, meant to be a light-hearted and comedic reimagining of the songs. Nothing here is meant to be harmful, hurtful, or hateful. These mashups do not represent my personal beliefs or opinions. These are all done simply for amsuement. I do not plan to make any kind of profit from these mashups, in any way. Each track most definitely falls under fair use.

"Mandela!" is a conceptual mashup EP with the goal of producing combinations that sound like songs we'd remember from years and years ago, when they truly never existed. Hence, "The Mandela Effect."

Mandela! 1: Discovery (Full Mashup Album)

The second full-length mashup album from himynameisshan., featuring collaborations from TCMusic!, jazzwave, and STARSEER!

This album is dedicated to my stepdad, who unexpectedly passed away before this album began production. He always had faith in me, no matter what I did, and was always there for me when I needed him the most. I hope he's proud of what I'll become, and I hope he's proud of what I'm doing now. Thank you, Father Number Two. You will forever be missed, and you will forever be loved.

Thanks to my close friends and family for always supporting and motivating me to pursue what I love. Thanks to The Mashpit (a collective of mashup artists and producers founded by me and Cosmic Latte) for their immense feedback, love and support during the making of this album. Special thanks to TCMusic!, jazzwave, and STARSEER for contributing to their tracks on here, and helping to bring those ideas to life. Most importantly, thank YOU. Yes, YOU. The amount of love and support for The himynameisshan Album has been overwhelmingly positive, and I never thought I'd have the kind of audience and love that I have so soon after release. Everything Is Wonderful (Full Mashup Album)

'Yours Truly' is a 5-track EP based around the concept of feeling seriously disconnected from the people you care about, and the fear of total isolation.

Each mashup is incredibly simplistic at it's core from a technical standpoint, only having two samples each, and using samples somewhat unfamiliar from what I've done before.

It's a bit different from what I normally do in the mashup sphere, but regardless, I hope you enjoy!

Yours Truly EP (Full Mashup EP)

'Nevermore' is a 6-track EP that continues some of the themes previously established in it's sister EP, 'Yours Truly'. While this EP touches on similar themes of loneliness and dealing with grief head-on, here the feelings are much more internal, extreme, and more representative of my real feelings (at the time of making this).

Much like 'Yours Truly', most of these mashups are pretty simple (with the exception of 'End') in their arrangements. I don't intend to entertain people with this EP or it's predecessor, but to share my feelings with people, and remind them that, if they are in a similar place of grief and loneliness, they are not alone. As a result, this EP is a bit sadder than it's predecessor, but regardless, I do hope you enjoy!

On February 4th, two years ago, I released "Mandela!" to the internet, uploading it silently to Bandcamp, before ever pursuing mashup production as a hobby on YouTube. To mark the series' 2nd birthday, and to celebrate all that it has accomplished, I called in the help of a few friends to reimagine a few of their personal favorites.

King Conga was probably the easiest boss for me as a COTND noob. This piece was a blast to remix, because there were convenient pauses where I could switch the soundtracks in and out. Then, the song would eventually play with one soundtrack, then switch to another when the pause happened. 

I think I was taking a really creative approach in this remix.

Crypt of the NecroDancer: MEGAMIXED is a remix (or remash) album dedicated to the amazing producers of the Crypt of the NecroDancer Soundtrack! 

Each and every song of COTND (well, except for some bosses and Amplified) has been carefully remixed and remastered by 6 music artists or groups: A_Rival, FamilyJules7x, Virt, Chipzel, Girlfriend Records, and Overclocked Records: each with their own individual styles and genres. 

Crypt of the NecroDancer: MEGAMIXED combines all 7 soundtracks of the game into one seamless piece of music by playing each remix at specific times. For example, Virt and Chipzel both use a chiptune approach to the soundtrack, so they will appear together very often.

Duck Tales - The Moon

Electro Swing is so much FUN!

I know forest maze is a little overdone, but I still had a blast making this one :D The original song is simple yet effective in giving a sense of wonder to the player. There were a lot of great songs to choose from, but I think this one just had to reign number 1 for me. A highly under rated RPG, play it if you haven't!
