This record is a collaboration with my very talented friend CJ of Wide Awake.

The outro of this track, is my favorite on the entire album. It samples an audio clip from a film titled "Paris In Midnight" where Hemingway describes how love is a mechanism to overcome the fear of death. Which I couldn't agree more.

"I believe that love that is true and real, creates a respite from death.

All cowardice comes from not loving or not loving well, which is the same thing.

And then the man who is brave and true looks death squarely in the face... It is because they love with sufficient passion, to push death out of their minds... until it returns, as it does, to all men."

The antidote of fear, is love.

Distant Romance was written and recorded by my talented friend Atilla, known as Lucky Season.

Back in 2020, Atilla sent over a folder of acapellas of song ideas he was working on. I went through my entire project library and ended up finding an instrumental I started that fit the track perfectly in all aspects (timing, length, key, tempo).

It was the first song I ever had come together where all the elements fell into place perfectly with a vocalist.

Dirty text and a distant romance.

Distant Romance

Just Like You was definitely not going to be on the album.

As I was digging through 5 years of demos, I decided that I want to give the world the most amount of music I've been harboring as possible.

I feel that it deserves to be heard and shared to whatever capacity it may. It also has classic Jersey Club percussion and patterns which the OGs will appreciate and love.

The sample Just Like You, is sampled from Zedd's "Find You". This was one of my favorite records back in the day. I really love Matthew Koma's voice and always wanted to sample his lyrics in some way.

Although Just Like You isn't my highest quality work, that was produced in my grandma's spare room in Indiana, I hope you all enjoy it.

Just Like You

Back in 2019, my brothers Frank Bizzle and Sal Klutch sent me a guitar hook they were working on. I instantly fell in love with it. We got to work and nearly 3 years later, here we are. Maternal.

The title of the track comes from a profound experience I had while taking LSD for the third time. I felt the deepest, most sincere, genuine, vulnerable love for my parents, particularly my mother in that specific moment. Absolute gratitude for who my parents are and how I would have never wanted it any other way.

I was adopted from a very young age, I believe I was between 4 - 6 years old when I was legally adopted. So, although I love my parents with all my heart, my subconscious mind always asked, why? Was I not wanted? For what reason? I've dealt with these thoughts for most of my life, unconscious of it.

At the end of the record, you'll hear an audio bit from my brother John Boy (who I was having the experience with) tell me "What? Say it." I was clearly emotionally overwhelmed to the point where I couldn't talk without tears. But I mustered the words :

"I love my parents so much. I wouldn't change anything, even if I could. I'll do everything while I'm alive to make sure they're good."

This track is an expression of the beauty, intensity and commitment to loved ones that I felt in that moment.

This record almost feels angry. Powerfully angry, releasing rage and other energy.

I was mean-mugging the whole time producing this record. Creating beautiful distortion and felt like destruction in some way.

Sometimes we all need a record that we can listen to and let off steam to, then take a deep breathe afterwards.
