CyberTracker ran out of pattern memory (only 796 lines!) while making this and I had to use use a lot of speed shifts and other tricks in order to make the song fit.

This took a few tries in two different trackers before I was satisfied with the results. Sitting on actual hardware and being able to hear the end result also helps a lot.

I originally intended to arrange this for the SID-chip for dem basslines, but I was unable to fit all stems into just 3 voices in a satisfying manner. Still, I feel that the Game Boy does this song justice anyway.

This was rendered using my SN76489 emulator that I wrote a couple of days ago. The tune was arranged in DefleMask and exported to the VGM-format in order to parse the song data and play it back in the emulator.

SN76489 is a pretty limited sound chip, or a "digital complex sound generator" as they put it in the datasheet, but it's quite satisfying when you manage to squeeze something that sounds decent out of it.
