Teison - Mi Alma

Under Stars is the first song that poured out of the Mi Alma EP when I started off experimenting, seeing if I could make a song limiting myself to using just two chords and it turned into one of my favourite records. It’s hypnotic, it gives you more by giving less and it takes you on a 4-minute percussive and melodic journey whilst the chords meditatively go back and forth, back and forth. It works at dawn, on a dancefloor, or on a long night drive. It was made under the stars of Belize in the Caribbean.

This is the second single from the "Mi Alma" EP.

Teison - Under Stars

This song was supposed to be released with the EP as a whole but I changed my mind after EP listening party back in August. Never have I seen people cry to a piece of music I made, until I played this song for my friends and family that night. It’s a moment and feeling I will never forget.

I’ve been living with this piano piece for two years, trying out electronic arrangements and interpretations and getting stuck until this Spring in Spain when I decided to honour it as what it is, a piano piece. 

I never thought I would be able to write a piano piece that could stand on its own legs, I hope you feel it as deeply as I do. 

I dedicate this piece to my loving Oma, who passed away earlier this year. She is, as she always loved to say, the source of my musical DNA. When I found the voice note of her talking about her love for the piano, I put it at the beginning of the song and it fell beautifully into place, and felt completely right.

Teison - Angels (Long For Tears Of Joy)

Teison is a 24-year-old producer & DJ from Amsterdam, currently based in Copenhagen. In 2022, he released his debut EP, Mi Alma, the culmination of a solo writing trip to the south of Spain — a deeply personal project that received support rom influential contemporaries. Teison has played at Copenhagen's most notable clubs and local and global radio programs; showcasing an eclectic taste based in house music but ranging to breaks and more left-field electronica and techno, new and old. Looking forward to 2024, Teison is to release a new body of work, Angels, that was finished during a month-long residency in that same special creative haven in Spain, this past January.
