I release this set in her hometown, Tofino BC, where she was born, on this day, 40 years ago.

You should never forget where you came from. This set is the kind of playful, old school house that began a lifelong obsession with beats. If you’re over 40 you may recall - waiting in alleyways with your crew outside of an afterhours party. The feeling of anticipation, both exciting and insufferable. The big steel door opens. The bass hits your chest. You slip through a heavy velvet curtain, and slide onto the dance floor. Your entire body enveloped by the music. The perfect evening has just begun.

Seventy years ago noone could imagine a minor youth movement growing to a political camp, having drastic impacts on governmental processes for over a decade, still influencing peoples life and art in the next millenium.
When human beings come together and share a common vision, a vivid feeling or a certain perspective, there is a small chance their lifes bond and timelines unveil that otherwise would remain hidden.
It's people like Gama (@gvmv) who prove that there is always a path to walk off the beaten track.

Unfortunately, our ship is currently stuck in the ice and will only be able to sail into warmer waters in the distant future. All the better that Smutje created this episode for us and sweetened the icy time with warm melodies and tight baselines.
