Teklife records proudly presents the third installment of ON LIFE, a compilation series exploring 
the wide array of talent and range on the posse’s roster. Featuring the OGs, the protégés, the Chicagoans and the out-of-towners, it showcases  20 different artists who continue to push the sound of footwork to new levels.

Among the 18 tracks on this compilation, you hear the many moods that make up this world of music and dance. The smoother, tender side, built around heavy harmonies and intermittent percussion is explored on DJ Manny’s glorious New Wave. Heavee & Sirr TMO touch on the aggressive, competitive side on Get Smoked, utilizing taunting vocals and jarring synths to stir up a battle. The clubby, celebratory side is handled by DJ Lucky on Welcome to the Party, with seductive chants and throbbing bass tailored to fill up any dance floor.

Some tracks in this collection harness one of the aforementioned approaches, while others employ all of the above. ON LIFE is a grand display of the depth and diversity that embodies the spirit of footwork, and how strong it still is going into its 4th decade of existence. It’s a testament to the Chicago-born culture, and shows who’s still carrying the torch that the late DJ Rashad and other pioneers initially lit.
