Make Music Day (http://www.makemusicday.org/) is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. In conjunction with events held in New York City this year, small mobile recording studios appeared on sidewalks throughout city. These “Street Studios” engaged passersby and festival musicians in the spontaneous, collaborative production of original music. Each street studio was run by a team of two DJ-engineers. Teknofonic artists @she-s-excited and @sonicfear ran one of these studios. They spent a few hours in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood recording, mixing, and looping, while interacting with the public who stopped by to sing, play an instrument, and record sounds that became part of this track.
