The next Modern Hypnosis sees the first official vinyl release from Another Channel. The young German producer Jonas Schachners (Another Channel) has been at the fore front of the new wave of ‘Dub Techno’ that has been lurking in the underground over the last few years. His dubbed out analog sound has left some accrediting his productions as ‘picking up where Rhythm & Sound left off’.
His debut 12” gives us two very unique tracks. The A side ‘Lord 35’ is an energetic synth driven tune which sitting at 135bpm, in a two-step style is made for the dance.
The B side ‘Corruption’ sees an international connection with the original composition created in Germany by Another Channel, then the overdubbing of vocals supplied by Ethiopian vocalist Enushu Taye (The Black Jesus Experience) in her native Amharic, recorded and mixed by Mystik in his Melbourne studio. The warm analog stabs and punchy bassline accompanied with Enushu Taye’s haunting vocals makes for a beautiful piece of music.

Abakus is the avantgarde futuretronica artist project of music producer Russ Davies, who also releases nudisco-electro under the Cinnamon Chasers alias, and progressive rock/ambient with his father Dave Davies (founder of 60s cult act The Kinks) as The Aschere Project.
Abakus explores the deeper and more emotionally complex side to electronic music and the upcoming album later this year is undoubtably his finest work to date, an intensly heartfelt expression of the vast amount of music knowledge and experience Russ has aquired over the 10 years he's been producing and performing globally.Themes of space, other-worlds and dreamlike landscapes are a consistent theme in all of Russ' music. 
As a precurser to the album Abakus hits us with an EP entitled Beyond The Fields EP, which features 6 melodically potent and dreamy futuretronic beats, and you can hear many references to his most seminal influencial tracks such as Orbital - Hylcyon, The Orb - Pink Fluffy Clouds, FSOL - Dead Skin Cells, all mutated into his unique fusion of danceable beats and mind-melting soundscapes. 
His sound drawns many influences from old and new and has become known for being of it's own kind, a fusion of downbeat, dub, techno, trance and electronica. His initial album "That Much Closer To The Sun" as Abakus was released in 2004 on Liquid Sound Design, record label of award-winning producer Youth, and published to Jazz Summers Biglife, and was an album that appealed to both fans of psychadelic and balearic chillout. In the 6 years since releasing this album Abakus has built a special devoted following of fans globally which has seen him revieve bookings to perform at countless festivals and parties world-wide.Music from this album and from his collaboration with Humphrey Bacchus as Nada have been licensed to over 40 downbeat CD album compilations, on dozens are key labels including Ministry Of Sound, Cocoon &amp; Bhudda Bar. Abakus has remixed The Orb, Our Man From Odessa, The Perishers, Roxy Music. In 2010 he released an EP with the track Wasted Feeling, this EP had a stronger club groove to it and recieved strong support from DJ's such as Laurent Garner, Jodi Wisternoff, and Seth Troxler. Russ also releases nu-disco and electro music under the moniker Cinnamon Chasers who's hit track Luv Deluxe won awards at SXSW for Best Music Video, Cannes Film Festival new directors award, and nomination at UK-MVA best Dance video.

Following hot on the heels of his Wednesday Dub EP, Stillhead is releasing a new 8-track album packed with deep, dub-techno infused sounds spanning the genre gamut, from ambient to drum & bass. All taking strong inspiration from the worlds of ambient and deep dub-techno.

From sluggish bass-heavy slow-step pieces like Flowing, to more skittish ambient steppers like Drowning, the album has Stillhead immersed in a world of circulating chords, reverb-drenched echoes and tight rhythmic production. Cinematic and expansive from the get-go, this one will be sure to appeal to fans of this deeper end of the musical spectrum.

Wir gehen mal in die Zukunft. Swuuuusch. “2 Jahre später” steht auf einer großen Kinoleihnwand danach ist Marcus Maak aka Vinylizer in klassischer Drei-Punkt-Ausleuchte zu sehen. Er erzählt von seiner persönlichen Reise durch die Bassmusikwelt. 
Marcus säbelte los: “Es fing vor 30 Jahren an. Ich gründete 1992 die Radiosendung Black is Black.” Die Sendung beschäftigte sich vor allem mit HipHop, dabei machte er seine ersten Erfahrungen als Radiomoderator. Schnell wurde Herr Maak etwas bewusst und ergänzte seinen Satz sofort. “Ich merkte aber, dass mir ein Genre nicht reicht. Es ist mir zu eindimensional.” Daraufhin gründete er BTTB - Back To The Basics, ebenfalls im Jahre 1992. Inhaltlich soll sich die Sendung mit mehreren Genres beschäftigen: HipHop, House und Acid Jazz, aber schon schnell kamen UK-Ravetunes und Jungle hinzu. Der Grundtenor von BTTB bestand aber immer aus einer entscheidenden Komponente: BASS.

Nur mal ein kleiner Gedankengang, was Vinylizer im Jahre 2022 von sich geben könnte. Es folgen zahlreiche weitere Projekte, die sich mit Bassmusik beschäftigen, wie die Crew WobWob!, eine regelmäßige Sendung auf ByteFM (BTTB), jährliches Auftreten auf dem Fusion und Feel Festival und die Internetseite recordstore.love.
Wir freuen uns endlich ein Mix von Vinylizer in unseren digitalen Händen zu halten und ihn euch präsentieren zu können. Er ist ein Urvater für die Bassmusik-Community und wie keiner immer noch so leidenschaftlich bei der Sache.
