2005 Bedroom Recording
I saw a girl. And we met. I think we saw each other every night after that for 3 months. Some don't believe in love at first sight. But other than some mighty spell woven by fate, what else could it be. I wrote this for her, the first night we met she wasn't sure I even liked her. I was head over that night, I could hardly speak to her. I think she felt similar, but who knows, it was wonderful either way.

I named it after something she said.

2017 — Left adrift at the end of summer. I wrote a few songs to  sum it all up and get it out the noggin top. This the last one I think. Looking back over time with someone there's not just ups and down, there's inside outs and WTF. In the end it'll be alright I guess, you get through it, just at some point, you have to get through it apart. Man, what a trip we had together, went through a lot of shit n shine and made it out alive.

2017 — Getting shovelled can shatter the ego something wonderful. I had this sound and one line. When I hit record it all came out in one take, like most things I don't like to revise after the fact. I must've listened to Lana Del Rey that day, and maybe some Interpol. Looking back at it now I think it's worth burning the mask and really having look at the face underneath.

2014 — I was with a girl at the time. Serious as well. It was that stage where you wonder, "what the fuck does she want from me?" — It wan't her, it was my imagination making problems. But still. The questioned rattled around in there. 

I had this sneaky little riff on a C shape. And I thought I'd better get it recored. So I took down a few bars of the riff and these words came to me as I was bashing the strings. So I went back and recorded the words over the top. 

At the time I couldn't see, but we all just want to be loved, genuinely, respectfully, thankful for the person they are. We all been looking, when you find it. Stop looking.

2016 — I got a little midi keyboard and a peasants fingering technique on the keys. I had this song for a while and was trying to find it. I like to think it's there. Not everything should be perfect for it to be beautiful.

2017 — Springtime is when the seeds start bearing fruit. I had a horrible thought in my head. Alongside a nice melody and and some music. I like to sit and let whatever comes out come out. When I loaded up the song I had a vocal in there, but I started a different melody. I left both in, I didn't know which was leading, makes you think you're two people sometimes.

August 2017 — Takes an age to start this track, apologies. Two days after my love said she had no love. I wanted to write her a song, a terrible idea to win back affection. I wrote one the day after the break up, she slayed it. Called it lazy. Killed me. So I wrote this the next day. Took me an hour or two, everything was damn fresh it was like words were blood from an open wound. Sometime the tough stuff makes the good stuff. Value is where you put it I guess.

2012 — Everything was up in there, I met a girl who was an idea of who I thought she should be, but, as I like to forget she's completely her own person. I found myself realising my mistakes too late and found myself chasing my folly, a role reversal for my ego.
