This is too fast for hiphop, but it's too slow for breaks. And it's one of the few songs where I worked in a syntheic guitar without it sounding too bad.

csound provided some grain synthesis, the rest is reason -- and headphones for the mic :)

Sequenced Live* 

MC-909 sending MIDI to drive Reason rack-instruments which are all sent back to the 909's RCA sampling input so that everything goes through the 909 mastering section and all recorded in the internal memory ready to be exported via USB.

*"Live" means all tracks were 4-or-8 measure loops; Then those tracks/channels were muted and un-muted in realtime to approximate what it might sound like if i had "finished" the song. 

But sometimes that live sequencing turns out sounding really nice, this is one of those.  Made on a rainy gray Appalachian day, so it's got a generous helping of musical melancholy... and
