Voidless Records debuts with Tectonics, a four-track EP by Barcelona-based producer Cyberdom, where Electro collides with a narrative of collapse and transformation.

What if collapse isn’t the end, but the beginning?

The main theme of the release draws inspiration from the natural forces that shape our planet. Plate tectonics. This cycle of breakdown and reformation becomes a metaphor for social crises, collective uprisings, and personal processes of transformation.

The journey begins with ‘Mariana Trench’, a dense ambient piece evoking a descent into the deepest ocean trench. ‘Collapse’ follows with tight beats and simmering synths building slow-burning tension. The title track ‘Tectonics’ delivers syncopated basslines, robotic patterns, and vocoders that encapsulates the concept of the release. The EP is brought to a close with ‘System Strikers’ a four-on-the-floor weapon driven by heavy kicks, vocoders, and sharp arpeggiated basslines.

This first release lays the foundation for Voidless Records — a forward-thinking imprint rooted in concept, where each work carves its own path, unbound by genre and driven by deeper artistic intent.

À travers quatre morceaux, deux par artiste, le split met en lumière des interprétations singulières de l’électro : Commuter livre des pièces où des mélodies acérées et des rythmes impeccables dialoguent avec des influences new wave et EBM. EKATA, quant à elle, nous emmène dans un récit sonore immersif, porté par des basses abyssales et des synthés angoissants.

These two distinct trajectories converge on the split EP signed to Rennes-based label Ethos Records, due out on 27 June.

The project features four tracks, two from each artist, highlighting singular interpretations of electro: Commuter delivers pieces where sharp melodies and impeccable rhythms dialogue with new wave and EBM influences. The return of ELECTRO MUSIC COALITION affiliate sin:it:sin with his new EP Obsolete Technology picks up where his previous EMC release left off — delving deeper into melodically expressive, narratively rich arrangements that inject new substance into the genre and contribute to shaping a gold standard for club-oriented ELECTRO.

Infoseek continues the EP’s commitment to layered structures. It opens with a simple synth riff, soon joined by a crisp break-kick and a second melodic line. A low-pitched acid line adds a shadowy tint, while the main melody undergoes subtle development. With its lack of overt accents, Infoseek comes across as smooth, airy, and refined.

Once again, the release demonstrates the composer’s ingenuity. These deeply thought-out works form a complete and coherent whole, resisting the trends of melodic minimalism while, in some ways, bringing the listener back to the genre’s roots — to the art of full-bodied, structured arrangement.
