Copshow

During a power outage in the afternoon, I couldn't work, I couldn't mix, so I grabbed my guitar and improvised some licks. It made me realize how much our lifes rely on electricity. In the lyrics, Jean speaks of a blackout both in the literal and figurative sense. Trespassing Canadian landscapes the narrator goes through a metaphorical journey.

薄汚れた灰色が地下に続く。扉を開けてもそこは、薄暗く、灰色の人間しかいない。自分と同じ種類の人間達に、理由のない安堵を感じながらウィスキーを呑む。一杯、また一杯と自分を追い込むように呑む。そうするしかないのだ、そうすることでしか私は終わらせ方を知らない。そうすることでしか、また明日を灰色にする事が出来ないのだ。

The stairs are leading to the dingy grey underground. That's dimly and there are only grey people sitting around. Feel groundless relieved from the people who are the same kind as me and start drinking whisky alone, and drink another and another. I only know this way and this is only way to end the days I know. So that I can make tomorrow the grey day again.
