KALI is a Persian-born recording artist, music producer and DJ based in Berlin, Germany.
Since 2004 she has produced music under her birth name of Maral Salmassi, but with her transition from Techno and Electro to what she calls “Bolly-Tech" (a combination of Trap, Hip-Hop, and Ghetto-Tech influenced by traditional Bollywood and Maghrebian music) comes a new identity: KALI - Amazon is the first single released under this new moniker.
Produced by Anubi of Lucky Beard camp it features a massive pack of remixes by Swick (Mad Decent artist / collaborations with Major Lazer, Diplo, Douster, Jennifer Lopez...), Mace (co-founder of the turbofunk collective RESET! from Milan), DJ Tiga (the new king of Jersey Club) and Tagteam Terror (German house duo, known for their productions on Moonbootique, Fogbank or Top Billin).
From Trap to House and everything in between, this release is ready to take on the weekend with you.

Salmassi’s music career began in 1997 when she founded her first label Konsequent, on which she released music by artists such as Jay Denham, Christian Morgenstern, Fanon Flowers, and Alexander Kowalski, among others. 
In 1998 she co-founded the Cologne-based Techno and Electro distribution company Formic, which served as one of the most radical distributers of Detroit Techno and abstract electronica and was the sole European distributor for many underground labels.
