After swapping files between Vienna and Berlin, Joyce Muniz and BPitch Control’s Kiki teamed up for a very special collab with Kiki taking on vocal duties. The result is a funky, deep and unique EP.

Having gained support from international heavyweights, Joyce Muniz has been on fire as of late. Not only was her 'Back In The Days' (Exploited) release with Bam from the Jungle Brothers an established hit, she also peaked in the top 3 of the tech house Beatport chart with the Wehbba remix of her track Sleepless on the Brazilian Warung Recordings. Since then her demand has gone through the roof, it would seem there’s no stopping this lady!

Also Kiki, the Finnish architect-turned-dance music producer is no stranger to most of us. With an impressive discography and a smartly composed sound, the BPitch Control long stay makes his Exploited debut. The two producers mixed down this exciting project in his Berlin studio.

We're very curious to see where this musical path may lead. . .

„3 Shots“ with Piemont

Q: Hallo Christian, Hallo Frederic! Ihr beide seit mittlerweile schon (fast) ein Urgestein in deutschen Techno Szene. Nachdem es mal kurzzeitig ruhiger um euch wurde, seid ihr scheinbar stärker als zuvor wieder zurück gekommen. Woher nehmt ihr eure Energie so akribisch an Piemont zu arbeiten?

A: In der Tat war es über einen kurzen Zeitraum ruhiger um uns geworden. Wir hatten in der Anfangsphase unsere Laufbahn übermäßig viel produziert, sodass uns zeitweilig die Inspiration für frische Ideen abhanden gekommen war. In dieser Situation angekommen, entschieden wir uns für eine kleine Schaffenspause, damit wir uns Gedanken machen konnten, wo es musikalisch hingehen sollte. Mittlerweile sind wir sehr motiviert aber gehen im Gegensatz zu früher kreative Prozesse sehr viel lockerer und intuitiver an. Wenn eine Idee nicht funktioniert, brechen wir die Zelte ab, gehen ein Bier trinken und starten eine Woche später einen neuen Versuch, anstatt eine Idee krampfhaft zu Ende zu bringen. Diese Unbeschwertheit hat uns sehr geholfen und mittlerweile haben wir mehr Spaß denn je im Studio :-)

Q: Nachdem sich die angesagte Musikrichtung mal wieder gedreht hat, habt ihr euch auch weiterentwickelt und neu aufgestellt! Mit Releases auf Exploited, Toolroom, Terminal M, Area Remote und auf eurem Label Plumbum seid ihr wieder voll präsent und gut aufgestellt. 
Wie seht ihr eure eigene Entwicklung von eurem ersten Release als Piemont auf MBF bis heute? Was hat sich für euch geändert?


A: Auf der einen Seite, haben sich unsere heutigen Sachen, im Vergleich zu den früheren Produktionen auf MBF, enorm gewandelt. Auf der anderen Seite, haben wir zu keinem Zeitpunkt einen Entschluss gefasst, unseren Stil ändern zu wollen, sondern vielmehr war es immer ein schleichender Prozess, der durch Zeitgeist, Trends aber auch durch neues Studioequipment beeinflusst wurde. Wichtig für unsere Entwicklung, waren aber auch unsere beiden Artist-Alben, die es uns ermöglicht haben, mit Stilen außerhalb der funktionalen Club-Sounds zu experimentieren. Diese musikalischen Impulse haben nach wie vor einen Einfluss auf unseren heutigen Sound.

Q: Nach so viel tollen Releases, was kommt als nächstes?

A: Unter anderem werden wir im November eine EP auf Materialism veröffentlichen, die auch auf Vinyl erscheinen wird. Außerdem haben wir einen Track auf dem Label Kraftek untergebracht, welcher im Oktober in die Shops kommen soll.
