HYDi is one of the coolest under the radar synths, created by a very dedicated developer. The second incarnation of this plugin turned a nice little synth into a mighty beast - in the good sense of the word: fully packed (very complex synth with lots of neat features - a knob tweaker's paradise), fully loaded (good factory bank with usable presets out-of-the-box; kudos to Halma for creating the additional bank with some really awesome presets), ready to go for the kill at a push of a button :) 

On a different note, this synth is special to me because it sparkled my "give-and-take" idea that turned into the "Synth Demo Sessions" project later on. So why HYDi, instead of a big name synth? Well, because I stick to my freebies only policy, and on the other hand because I have the outmost respect for the freebies creators and I believe they can benefit more from this than a commercial company that already has an established reputation and a steady fan base. Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against commercial synths, in fact I think most of them are awesome, but I get my kicks from picking freebies up and putting them to good use - that always brings a smile on my face :) So Andrew, this one is for you, bro :) Thanks for creating an awesome synth ;)
