Just This, the Milan-based imprint present Tauri, a four-track EP by Blausch featuring Running Pine on the vocals and remixes by Antonio Ruscito and Temp-Illusion.
The original vision, as the title reveals, opens up to a sparse and hypochondriac space studying parallel dimension theory as the enchanting vocals unfold and unites with the expertly crafted melancholic piano work.
Antonio Ruscito delivers two motive neo-classical driven cinematic pieces suitable for dance-floor as well as motion picture. The initial remix deploys rugged kicks and moving drum-line together with orchestral strings and piano accompanying the original vocals, while the 'Dreamscape' version sets-off to an emotive destination, leaving behind the four on the floor groove for an extensive orchestral soundscape voyage.
Ultimately, the experimental electronic duo Temp-Illusion concludes the journey with a futuristically restless and novel drum work, introducing unprecedented sonic and aesthetic dimensions to Tauri.

Hey yeah - last Saturday I welcomed Palestine/Berlin based multi-instrumentalist and DJ Falyakon! A cerebral selector, Falyakon (“let it be” in Arabic) took over the second hour with a multi-layered, genre-bending guest mix that plays with both time and rhythm. She hosts a monthly program on Root Radio, and is also co-curator & resident DJ of Al Musalsal; a series of live performances and DJ sets in Palestine and beyond. This is the noisiest and most out there Panoramic has been in a while, and I can’t wait for you to hear it.

PANORAMIC #082: dust together (with Falyakon, Palestine/Berlin)

Rodney returns with his new episode: Temp-Illusion is an Iranian experimental/electronic duo consisting of Shahin Entezami and Behrang Najafi, both natives of Tehran, Iran. The duo started in 2011 and performed their first audio/visual live set in collaboration with Tehran-based visual artists, Alless and Nylaa for TADAEX03 festival.

They use a wide range of music programs and hardware synthesizers in their music production to combine noisy and atmospheric layers with melodies and complex beat programming to achieve a unique style of dance music. Temp-Illusion are mainly known as a live band, and they have performed in various shows and festivals such as TADAEX, SET Festival, SETXCTM, Berlin’s CTM festival, and Alice Copenhagen among others. So far, they’ve released two LPs, “Autolected '' and “Pend'', and a remix album “Pend [reworks]” on Zabte Sote label which is a sister label of Opal Tapes.

@muqataa is an electronic musician and MC based in Ramallah, Palestine. Creating sounds using sampled material, field recordings, and electronic devices, the results range between harsh beats, abstract tones, and glitch. He co-founded the Ramallah Underground Collective  [2002-2009]. Muqata'a is also co-founder and member of the sound and image performance group Tashweesh alongside artists Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme. He has released several solo albums including; Inkanakuntu (2018) on Discrepant, Dubt Al-Ghubar (2017) on Third Type Tapes, La Lisana Lah (2017), and Hayawan Nateq (2013). Muqata’a has composed several film scores, as well as scores for dance-theatre performances, and is now working on different collaborative and solo projects.

Our next mixtape instalment comes by Temp-Illusion the Iranian experimental/electronic duo consisting of Shahin Entezami and Behrang Najafi.

Formed in 2011 and mainly operating as a live act, temp-illusion use a wide range of music programs and hardware synthesizers in their music production to combine noisy and atmospheric layers with melodies and complex beat programming to achieve a unique style of dance music.  

In recent years, an exciting Iranian electronic music-scene has quickly emerged and reached western ears, partly thanks to the work of Sote and Zabte Sote, a sister-label to Opal Tapes that focuses on putting out experimental electronic music by Iranian composers that he runs, as well as SET festival. Temp-Illusion release their first album Autoelected in 2019 in Zabte Sote as well as the more recent Pend, released earlier this year. 

While Autoelected was a perfect example of what recently has become known as ‘deconstructed dance music, Pend takes it from there to evolve into an assembly of carefully designed sonic microstructures that ultimately result in an artificial macro environment of hard electronic funk. Taking the listener from a meditative to a hyper demented state, inspired by the fear and stress instigated by media manipulation during and after the war. 

Shahin Entezami and Behrang Najafi, also have their solo projects as Tegh and Bescolour. The artists share that this mix is mostly made from the music they have recently listened to during these 2-3 months of quarantine: Since our rehearsals are also cancelled due to this pandemic, we have started to work separately on music projects, which is a new experience for us and it would probably change the way we sound! So this mix is the first output of working on a mutual project separately.
