M.RUX records legendary set after legendary set, and he's back after some time since his last one, joining us for our birthday número cinco. Soulful, bluesy, world exotica, misty psychedelia and of course, crazy good drums. 

"It's all framed in by samples of Georges Perec and Bernard Queysanne's film:
"Un Homme Qui Dort" from 1974 
which to seems fit our current situation pretty well."

Connecting for such a special moment, the artwork comes from a collab between collage geniuses Ventral is Golden and Dima Rabik. Their visual work is enchanting and them working together for this is just heartwarming.

Welcome back, dear listener. It's a pleasure to have you here. 

So, wheels are in motion and guess what? We got multicultural top selecta Lotte Ahoi to start the year off right. 

With her recording from Plan:et C - Beta 2021, she gently leads our imagination to a soothing garden of colorful music, where every flower represents a track carefully planted and nourished. As you wander and smell the fresh air, you feel that you can call this your home and come back anytime you want.

When listening to this experienced digger, you notice a potpourri from so many directions, yet, what has always remained constant in her mixes is the rather relaxed rhythm and lots of melody she swings. For years we keep falling in love with her mixes, as we align with her philosophy that musical boundaries only exist in our heads.

In order to understand what moves her and her listeners, one has to imagine the nature of a sloth – a sloth that loves music but hates stress, instead choosing to hang on a tree, watching the flowers grow and waiting for the sun to shine in her ears.

Lotte, we thank you for your never-ending search for diamonds in the rough, slowly weaving them together in a slowmomoving and sneakily surprising wave of Funkumbiafrorientropical Slothdisco (yeah, that's right). 

Shout out to @urbancosmonautradio, a distinguished label and mix series that she runs with Burntale, which keeps being an inspiration for Tepeme.

Lotte Ahoi is a multi­culturally inspired DJ and collector of music gems. In order to understand what moves her and what moves her listeners, one has to imagine the nature of a sloth – a sloth that loves music but hates stress, instead choosing to hang on a tree, watching the flowers grow and waiting for the sun to shine in her ears.

Inspired by the emerging generation of electronic music producers interpreting their own and other’s musical roots in genre­blind fusions of sounds, her sets tend to break with tradition without actually breaking them at all giving the almost forgotten but anyway wonderful music a spotlight on a stage they deserve.
Her fascination with what she calls the “RemixEditReworkGeneration” drives her never-ending search for diamonds in the rough. And on most days, you can find Lotte digging for diamonds all over the musical spectrum, weaving them together in a slowmomoving and sneakily surprising wave of funkumbiafrorientropical Slothdisco.

With a musical backround spanning more then three decades the multi-instrumentalist is constantly exploring unsought territories, seeking yet a new way to express himself. With a delicate fondness for traditional music from around the globe, he has great joy in wandering through different eras and collecting influences to finally combine his discoveries to this well-known signature blend. The calendar year is getting to an end and many tend to look back at the joys and successes, but also at the false steps. No better time than this to present a cosmonautic experience offered to us by the one and only Pacaya. His beautiful creations as painter, illustrator, and graphic designer have been delighting us for long time, and now we have the rare opportunity to appreciate his aesthetic also through sound. This beloved friend of ours embodies the concept of the multisensorial artist displaying here an exquisite selection of world music. The sound is the fourth dimension of his visual art. Pacaya explained that each of his artistic creations can be experienced in a deeper way when accompanied by the sound which nourished his mind, and which drove his hand during the making. The sound, somehow, makes the colours more vivid and complement the creation with further details. The inclusion of the sound wide opens the door which the visual art unlocks. That’s the doors to the intimate and emotional world of the artist, a world which Pacaya has been shaping with the physical and metaphysical experiences that he has collected through space and time. Crossing that doorstep gives the chance to make a digression from our respective “here and now” to transcend towards an inner dimension where we can relive our joys and forget our troubles, if we like, or to face the latter with calm and serenity. In that dimension we have the chance to enjoy our time, but also to learn from our false steps in a constructive and peaceful manner. The secret to do this is simple: just relax and feel.

I love playing music for my friends, so I imagined a cosmic setting where we gather and enjoy our company. Some are lying down, looking at the stars, others are shaking their bodies. Which one you would be you? It doesn’t matter. We are happy you are here.
Inspired by this scenario, I chose intersellar tracks with an Earthly flavor.

We have had a deep connection with José, aka Pol Balam, for years. His passion for music and love for those who create it (and of course many more), brought us together.
If we can now look at the stars with him and listen to his story, that is only a small part of his music work.
