Inspired by the depth and range of the human condition, Tempestfeather blends music and poetry, harnessing both mediums' transcendent power to tap into the unconscious – and celebrating storytelling's alchemical potential.

Expect intimate sonic excursions centered around a particular experience or feeling, that are just as musically broad and diverse as the inner emotional landscapes that evoke them.

Originating from Italy and Indonesia, Tempestfeather is a music selector and writer based in Berlin.

Growing up between Europe, Asia, and Africa, Tempestfeather naturally developed a flair for wide-ranging and nuanced storytelling. Exposed to an unpredictable blend of cultures, she cultivated an early interest in rhythm and sound— both musically and linguistically. After training in classical guitar and performing as a vocalist in rock bands, she explored the realm of electronic music, honing her craft as a DJ — and never looked back. 

As a music selector, her sound was conceived in Cairo, shaped in London, and refined in Berlin. Drawing on diverse influences, Tempestfeather’s DJ sets blend tempos and style in a polychromatic, textured sonic experience — leaning towards a left-field, bass-heavy sound that is not bound by genres.

Sonic Stanza: Waking the witch - Tempestfeather - 19 Nov 2024

Recorded live at the iconic @tresorberlin for their New Faces event, hosted by @octoptic. I opened the night with a 2.5-hour set (mostly digital + some records), covering different shades of atmospheric and uplifting techno — with an emphasis on UK techno grooves — built up from 125 to 150 bpm. Featuring some classics by Vangelis (opening track), Dave Angel, Sterac, Bliss, and more recent releases I've been rinsing. I wanted to keep the mood energetic but build up the intensity and groove slowly since it was the beginning of the night.

Grateful for this special and unforgettable experience - and for the opportunity to showcase a more techno side of my collection :)

Played one of my favorite-ever club sets to date, taking over the decks after legend Jerome Hill. It’s a simmering mix that leans into groovy leftfield techno with percussive elements, house and breaks — and a deep, transportive atmosphere. 〰️ 🌀🦋 Recorded on vinyl and digital.

A bit about the process: Parnassus is an event with no genre or stylistic constraints. They gave me complete trust to play my personal timeless gems, which allowed me to break free and tap fully into my selection in-the-moment rather than stick to one lane. I had many ideas while prepping, but no defined direction until I pressed play. I stayed the whole night, feeling out the flow before my set, reading the energy on the dancefloor, and letting intuition guide me.

It was a real treat to play from 4 to 6:30 AM in one of my favorite clubs, surrounded by good friends, as the sun began to rise — and to share some of the records that have shaped me over the years, plus some recent standout releases. 🌅

Hope enjoy listening as much as I did playing! Thankful to @mu_he for the invitation, had a blast 🩷 and to @carlog808 for the skillful mix mastering.

Disclaimer: there’s a bit of vinyl distortion from 1h19 to 1h21 which I wasn't able to fully fix — feel free to bear with it or skip ahead.

Tempestfeather, is an Italo-Indonesian DJ with a truly global sound. Full Moon in Leo

Tempestfeather is the electronic music act of Berlin-based writer and creative Liz Marchetti. As a DJ, her sound was conceived in Cairo, shaped in London, and refined in Berlin. Drawing on her diverse range of influences, she likes to mix and blend genres that lean towards a leftfield and bass-heavy sound.

She said of this mix: “It showcases my penchant for the deeper and darker end of the electro spectrum, with a nod to the UK’s breaky and dubby sounds I love. Coincidentally (or synchronistically?), this set connects the dots between my present and past hometowns of Berlin and London. I featured local Berlin producers Parand, Scarlit Port, and Volruptus; as well as UK-based talents Sync24, T-Flex, and Etch. To tie it up, there's a track by fellow Italian artist GAJA too. Geographical ties aside, I’d like to think it’s pretty danceable :)
