Intro

Temple, is a Southern Groove Metal band from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who strive to blend multiple musical styles and sounds to create their own unique and powerful take on the Southern Metal genre. Temple draws most of their influence and inspriration from bands such as Pantera, Mudvayne, Hellyeah, Slipknot and entirely too many others to list while also keeping an open mind for music in general and putting in tons of effort to make sure what they create is completely unique in itself. Temple's debut album, "The Book Of Lies: Chapter 1", was released world wide on August 4, 2015, and was met with incredible response and feedback. Zachary Thomas of Rabid Wolf Pack, in response to Temple's debut release, said, "Southern Metal at it's finest! Highly reccomend!"

Temple was formed in 2012 from a group of guys that never really set out to make a serious or all original band. Originally, it was all about just getting together, hanging out, jamming to some cover songs and throwing parties with open practices. Within the span of a few months, the guys managed to write a few original songs and play them at the open practices to some friends and immediately noticed the response to their original songs. So, they began the process of working to mold and shape Temple into a legitimate band. The original lineup consisted of vocalist Jack Lucas, bassist Hunter Barrow, guitarists Chris Hall and Joe Horner and drummer Anthony Whitlock. Each, bringing their own different musical backgrounds.

Within the first 6 months, tension and personal differences started to escalate between the band. Then began the rocky and almost constantly changing lineup. By the summer of 2014, it was decided to take a break from Temple. After almost 2 months of very little contact, vocalist Jack Lucas and bassist Hunter Barrow began the process of rebuilding a new Temple with a whole new sound. They then recruited ex-Through The Awake guitarist, Shelby Fortenberry and drummer, Delton Smith. In only 2 months, Temple had 7 new original songs and an energy and chemistry like never before. They quickly began gaining major attention in the South Mississippi music scene and was recognized as being a live powerhouse for the tightness and variety of original music and intense stage presence. They immediately became one of the go to bands for local music venues and booking agencies. They have shared the stage with many national and international bands such as: Sons Of Texas(Razor&Tie), The Family Ruin(KBB Records), Famous Last Words(InVogue Records), Tear Out The Heart(Victory Records) and many more. 

Currently, they are gearing up to play as many shows as possible in support of their newly released album, "The Book Of Lies: Chapter 1", and working hard to develop a new energetic and memorable live show.
