Sub Basics Temple of Sound Mix

Dub Athlete is a multi-genre artist based in Brighton. With her roots in dub and dubstep, you can hear an affinity for the minimal, psychedelic and heavyweight in her selections which span from introspective ambience to hypnotic and tribal techno, deep dubstep and dark jungle. G'day g'day, another 6 months has gone by since the last Pugcast so I felt it was only natural to record the final mix in the series to showcase some of the stuff I have been working on and have coming over the next year or so!

It is crazy even with 3 full 1 hour production mixes I still haven't even covered half of the music that I am sitting on currently.

Inside this mix is a blend of dubby and musical vibes across the bpm spectrum! Thanks for all your support with Ruff Kutz lately, at a time where it's proving more challenging to create physical media - you keep the culture alive!

The first episode of habitus mix brings together the minds and skills of Pugilist and Firas. Pugilist is the prolific and acclaimed Scottish/Kiwi producer who recently launched his own imprint Ruff Kutz and who has released music on such celebrated record labels as Nous'klaer Audio, Modern Hypnosis, Samurai Records, 3024 and Banoffee Pies Records. Firas is a Syrian-Australian DJ and broadcaster, and the music director at PBS 106.7FM, Naarm's premier specialist music radio station. 

This episode features music from such artists as L.B. Dub Corp, Flying Lotus, DJ Plead & rRoxymore, Crown and Country, LSS, Quincy Raw, Big Hands, Barker, and Forest Drive West, to name just a few. The tracks included here are at once joyful and heartbreaking, still and furious, ambient and ecstatic. Brilliant mixing and long, patient blends hold the music together, and loose, imperfect ruptures ensure that this 2.5-hour episode remains compelling from start to finish.
