The EP commences with the climactic yet ethereal sounds that encapsulate the opening track titled ‘The Sun’, an aura of suspense that is accentuated yet further by the phantasmal and discordant sounds in the second track titled ‘Atonal’. The third track titled ‘Polymorph’ stands out due to its elusive overtones, whilst ‘Inner Nature’ is enshrouded in a mesmeric contrast of industrial and acidic sounds. ‘Lightyears’ embodies an anarchic amalgamation of cacophonous acidic drones, whilst the penultimate track titled ‘Nazare’ manifests a sonorous bassline. Concluding the EP with its disorienting undertone and commanding bassline is the final track titled ‘No Earth’.

An electronic music duo from Macedonia, currently based in Skopje. The name Binary Thoughts may speak for itself, but there is a much deeper meaning embedded within.

The ancestral way of thinking has always been 'binary'. To understand nature and all its phenomena, we made a world of oppositions (day/night, sun/moon, male/female). Where the law of "all or nothing” rules, there is no in-between. But the reality is indeed always more complex and more interconnected than what our 'perception' of the world suggests.

This perception beyond this “all or nothing” connected Ana Bogatinovska and Jovana Gjorgievska. At first strangers to each other, they met at a music festival in their native country; And after a long discussion about electronic music, they've decided to do a project that will connect their somewhat different but similar taste in electronic music.

Their melancholic, delicate and hypnotic sounds use 'binary thinking' as a motor to press on to a third term or a higher category that represents a transcending reconciliation or unity: where thesis and antithesis are always harnessed to yield a synthesis. Where seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary: Yin and Yang.

Currently, they are exploring the vast horizons of deep and hypnotic soundscapes intending to create their unique blend of creativity to start producing their music.

Glasgow based Fernie has been immersing himself in the local scene since 2002 taking influences from the city's many techno stalwarts holding residences at a number of the areas key venues allowing him to hone his style over the years.

Most recently he continues to develop his own Space Textures imprint facilitating the release of some of the finest atmospheric techno on offer. He also works with the influential Norway based Monument group to deliver podcasts and streams from artists around the globe.

In this session for Temple.Prayer, Fernie delivers a near 2 hour mix of both vinyl and digital selections with a number of unreleased productions and picks from the vaults providing a meandering journey into his mind.

MTRL (material) is an art project by Lukas Weinlein. Fascinated by immersive audiovisual experiences, he explored the universes that exist, painted in so many different styles of music. This insightful journey shaped his current understanding of music and ultimately led him to the endless possibilities of hypnotic electronic music, inspired by the infinite cosmos and organic voices of nature. Having bonded with a multitude of great artists helped to refine his style and created a sphere of inspiration around him. The permanent exchange of ideas and skills with other artists helped to transform MTRL into a still developing transmedial art project . The name for this specific art project was chosen because of the definition of the word material: "the matter from which a thing is or can be made" - It fits the purpose of the project very good. The aim of MTRL is to create an audiovisual experience from existing or non-existing matter for open-minded brains. Together with Dycide and Polygonia he is one of the minds behind the label IO. His various releases are played by some of the most established artists of the Hypnotic and Deep Techno scene.

She is involved in numerous types of music events and festivals, from underground raves, ambient healing journeys to art shows. Her multilayered taste and collection of music has given her great value when it comes to sharing music with her audience. Her inspiration comes from nature, inner personal growth, playing piano and living life as an artsy experience. She plays festivals such as Ozora and has performed alongside respected artists in the scene including Marcus Henriksson, Feral, Dubsahara, the collective of Navigare Audio and the likes.

This is a cut from a 6 AM live-recording from a Berlin underground party in August this year. I got inspired to transmute a dynamic mood on the dancefloor, giving a journey through hypnotic and psychedelic landscapes, seductive and deeper melodies for those early morning hours.

After becoming a resident, he found comfort in scoring hosted performance acts with experimental electronics, ambient, noise, witch house, industrial and ritualistic techno with either live or hybrid DJ sets.

Sonic experimentations sourced in the depths of The Dungeon Of Polymorphous Pan laid foundations for EPs released in 2022 on London labels Metempsychosis Records and The Judgement Hall Records. Later that year, his collaboration with handpan magician Elfeira, joined the compilation ‘Whisper of Spirit’ on Korean label GWI MYEON Records.

Described by Resident Advisor as a ‘real one-man institution of the Polish electronic music scene’, there is no denying that Dtekk is an integral part of the thriving and increasingly influential Polish techno community. His relentless activity and insatiable passion has seen him co-found Poland’s infamous Technosoul label which has been running since 2005, in addition to being the sole founder of Up To Date Festival. His activism and influence have not gone unnoticed abroad, leading to a watershed moment in his career in which he was invited to play at Hospital Production’s 20th anniversary event at Berghain / Panorama Bar last year. The multifaceted approach of his vinyl only sets sees him delve into a kaleidoscopic range of entrancing techno sounds in which the listener finds himself in an interminable and hypnotic journey. There is no denying that in recent years, there has been a great and invaluable influx of DJ’s emanating from Northern/Eastern Europe who have very much contributed to both the international and British techno scene. Odd Hills is the latest DJ to emerge from this influx. The limited scope and availability of the electronic music scene in his hometown of Lithuania posed obvious problems. Yet rather than be dissuaded, such limitations only led to a greater thirst to explore and discover new sounds. This opportunity was afforded to him by his move to the capital (Vilnius) in which he would find a greater and more established scene. Yet it would only be until he emigrated to London around a decade ago that he would decide to jump on the decks and mix the very sounds he had discovered and explored over the years. Listen carefully to his mixes and the influence of his Lithuanian background will quickly become apparent. He is part of a recent cabal of Eastern/Northern European DJ’s whose unique style of techno has proved a welcome derivation to the standard style of industrial and hard Berlin techno which has dominated the Western European techno scene for many years and which is gaining greater and greater traction. Such a style involves a kaleidoscopic range of experimental techno sounds, ranging from the melodic to the dark. Whilst he had not delved into the realm of music production yet, this is the next goal in his sight. But for the time being, his mixes on the likes of Plazma Records and Temple.Recordings, in which he fearlessly and effortlessly weaves between the dark and melodic elements of techno music, have caught the ear of a small but committed underground techno audience in Britain.

​Tasman is a DJ and producer from Vilnius, Lithuania. His techno career began when he started playing vinyl for his friends, like many other young DJs.

This residency allowed him to rise and blossom as a DJ, playing sets in well-known clubs such as Corsica Studios, allowing him to experience his productions on bigger sound systems in front of a discerning public.
Throughout the years, Tasman refined his style and became proficient in his preferred driving and rolling techno style, with inspiration coming from masters of the genre, including James Ruskin, DVS1, Blawan and Dax J.

Sacrament of Penance is a coherent collection of cathartic sounds. A presentation of four separate tracks, in which each track expresses a different condition of the human psyche. ‘Unknown Pleasures’ stands out as an atmospheric adventure into the abyss, standing in stark contrast to the claustrophobic, convoluted and chaotic sounds of ‘Kinetic Energy’. ‘Meanwhile ‘Orizzonte degli eventi ‘ presents itself as a hypnotic and tense track, the tension of which is released by the relentless and merciless hard-hitting final track titled ‘Living Proof’.

Sacrament of penance 002 sees the welcome introduction of 3 new various artists. The opening track titled ‘Fictive Line’ is a labyrinthine collision of dark and atmospheric sounds which is enveloped in an aura of suspense. An aura of suspense that is answered for by the second track titled ‘Snara’ with it’s highly energetic and pulsating melodic characteristics. The third track titled ‘Circle Over My Head’ stands in stark contrast to this due to it’s heavy industrial overtones which contributes to a claustrophic feel. All of which is concluded by the explorative last track titled ‘Metempsychosis’ that is encapsulated by a state of tension created by a combination of dark and heard breakbeat sounds.

Norberto Lusso’s new EP titled ‘Alterate Energy’ begins with a captivating and enthralling track titled Aesthetic. The next track (Nrgy) follows a more forceful approach built on an eloquent combination of an uncompromising bass line coupled with melodic interludes. This relentless bass line is elaborated even further in the next track titled Sakerhets, which is distinguishable from the rest of the EP due to it’s bewildering and perturbing sounds which resonate throughout the track. His last track of the EP (Oxire) culminates his oppressive approach, in which the harshest sounds of the EP create a real sense of asphyxiation. On the contrary Mörker’s serene and vitalised remix of this track is dissimilar to the discordant and convoluted sounds of the rest of the EP.

The first track of Sacrament of Penance 003 (Krypt – URZ) exhibits a teasing interplay in which the constricting and hypnotic opening half of the track is later confronted with an illusive ambient interference. Yet track 2 (Tsibo - Lost Signal) stands in stark contrast, with it’s cataclysmic, cryptic and cacophonous sounds. These sentiments are advanced even further by the eerie and incomprehensible vocals in conjunction with the palpitating bass line of track 3 (Vendex - De Praestigiis Daemonum). The last track (Wavetable – Octane) neatly concludes the VA with an adventurous interchange of scintillating and dark sounds which embody the spectrum of divergent sounds on display in the first 3 tracks of the VA.

Lindsey Wang, also known as Polygonia, is a versatile art and music project based in Munich, Germany. Her preceding intensive and long practice playing several instruments as well as the experiences with other art forms, inspired the artist to translate her understanding of rhythm, composition and experimentalism into the digital musical language. She creates mystic, deep and experimental soundscapes with acoustic elements in it. Together with Dycide and MTRL she founded the Ambient and DeepTechno Label IO.
