Roman Messer joins forces with the vocalist Joe Jury one more time for 'Upon The Horizon' on Suanda Music!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Roman and Joe are teaming up for the third time after the slower ballad 'I've Been Needing You' taken from Roman's long-player 'Dream' and the massive success of their uplifting trance record 'The River' (from 'Written In The Stars') that rocked numerous dancefloors and charts last year.

Their new team effort, 'Upon The Horizon', largely follows in the footsteps of the latter. An uplifting stormer, largely built upon the same sound design principles that made 'The River' a fan favorite, sees Roman craft a driving instrumental to accompany Joe's hopeful, celestial-themed lyrics. Gentle piano in the calmer parts of the track serves as a secondary melody to play off Joe's vocals before making room for Roman's syncopated lead synths that scream 'this is the highlight of the set'.

Working equally well as the peak moment and as the memorable closing track in terms of its mood, 'Upon The Horizon' has been road-tested by Roman in his sets at the Suanda and Trancemission events, and is out now on Suanda Music!

After talking with John O'Callaghan in Ibiza 2009 & receiving his huge support of Aztec, a plan was formed to work on a collab together at some point in the future.
Well the collab came in the form of Rhea which featured the vocals of Aztec's Polly Strange but this time used as a more stand alone aspect of the track instead of a combination of main riff & vocal.

Rhea was played extensively in Live Sets by Armin Van Buuren & also heavily supported by Sean Tyas, Bryan Kearney & the rest of the Irish Trance DJ's as well as many others.

Named after the mother of the Gods, Rhea was a big summer anthem of 2010 & signed to John's Subculture label.

Polish producer Kris Maydak is an incredibly busy guy! With releases on Enhanced, Black Hole and Always Alive as well as his last outing on Amsterdam Trance Records - ‘Cross The Line’ with Aneym, Kris has been steadily building up quite a following in the Trance Community. This time it’s a vocal collaboration with U.S singer/songwriter Juliet Lyons on ‘Hand Over My Heart’.

Juliet is a prolific writer and has had her work featured on a variety of mediums as well as nominated for a number of songwriting and music awards. Her vocals lend themselves perfectly to Trance and her work here with Kris is an excellent example. A more progressive Trancer with plenty of energy, a gorgeous breakdown and an expert touch from Kris once again.

Matt Chowski is along for remix duties as he dials up the BPM for his straight up Trance take on the original.

Providing a deeper insight into his creative world than his first extended outing ‘Illusion Of Perfection’, Spencer has once again delivered a fresh take on a classic format - the mix album.
Few artists put such emphasis on allowing their DJ craft to inform their studio output. With a passion for extended live sets, Spencer blurs the lines between deep house, progressive and trance to keep those performances fresh and clubbers locked in from start to close.
From the angst of ‘Long Way From Home’ (alongside label heads Above & Beyond), to the driving energy of underground hit ‘Windows 95 On Acid’, Spencer is making waves: the former becoming a playlisted record on Sirius XM BPM, the latter a record box mainstay for Eric Prydz, Calvin Harris, Sasha and Deadmau5 and a number 1 techno release on Beatport.

Meticulously crafted through no fewer than 329 revisions, ‘Stream of Consciousness’ is a wide-ranging exploration of Spencer’s sound in 2019. From the serene soundscape of ‘SF to Berlin’ alongside label-mate and regular studio partner Ben Böhmer, to the peak-time progressive energy of Wilt Claybourne collaboration ‘Womaa’, the energy ebbs and flows, but never loosens its grip.
Spencer applies his own spin to breakbeat with ‘Chance On Us’, while ‘Pursuance’ with rising Anjunadeep star Marsh is a 90’s-flavoured rave cut.

Spencer explains his love of the mix format…
“The mix album took 329 revisions to finalise. I’m a control freak with my mixes—it’s deeply ingrained in my creative process. With that in mind, I didn’t send any tracks to anyone for mix help, and I created and mixed 100% of the final product. Creating an album of radio-edited singles has never interested me creatively. I prefer to craft music that keeps my listener in a flow state—working, studying, travelling, exercising, dancing, whatever it may be. I conceived my album as one carefully mixed piece: an hour and change of continuous music. It’s a collection of tracks I wrote from 2015 to 2019, inspired by the majesty of nature, missing a loved one, and the ups and downs of touring—all bundled into a single Stream of Consciousness.”
