Dreamery Thursday  Burning Man 2023

I was given the honor of playing for @opulentchillmusic at 5pm on burn night (Saturday) at this year's Burning Man. I contemplated leaving the event when driving a friend to Reno on the Thursday before but had spent more than a month collecting and cultivating some music and returned to BRC beyond excited to play... until the weather took a turn for the worst and forced me to miss my set while sheltering in place (you may have seen the news).

A friend and I spent more than eight hours exiting the city (the time it took to reach actual road/pavement) yesterday, and I'm beyond grateful to be home. I wanted to record a mix while my feelings about the past few days and our shared experiences (trauma bonding?) were still fresh. I hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much to Opulent Chill for the opportunity to play and to the amazing friends who took me in when it was clear that my tent situation was not going to work with the incoming weather. Sunrise And Recovery Set (Burning Man 2023)

What a whirlwind at Burning Man 2023. I'm slowly combing through my USBs and gathering all the sets. I will be recording a couple that I didn't get to record out there from a sunrise moment on the Janky Barge art car and a funky sunrise set at Bubbles & Bass that didn't happen because of the epic storm. 

Long before the storm, I jammed with the crew at the camp Santo Cabron and brought in the sunset vibes atop the aEyeclops art piece. It was such a beautiful view of the entire city, and I immensely want to thank Love My Robot aka Carolina and Rey Solo aka my BIPOC Beats Collective co-lead Juan for having me and for letting me share space with ya.

Dj Tempo has lifted fists and arms at all the major dance clubs of southern California and major cities along the West coast for over 14 years and currently touring parts of the world. Song Writer, Actor, Producer, DJ, Music Composer and Film Composer Tempo (Devon Nguyen) was born in Minnesota and was raised in Minneapolis, St. Paul until the age of 13 when he moved to Southern California in 1991. He has appeared in major venues including Avalon, Mayan, Vanguard, Heat Ultra Lounge, Yost Theater, Sutra, V20 and music festivals playing alongside Benny Benassi, Sander Van Doorn, Michael Woods, Tommy Trash, Thomas Gold, Crystal Method, Felguk, Ferry Corsten, LMFAO and many high profile performers. Tempo has also produced multiple original dance tracks released independently “June Serenade Feat. Ashley Morphew”, “SPAACE” and “Enetics. Tempo found a calling to perform in a live electro house music band called, Speaker Junkies, as a drummer in 2008. Currently, Speaker Junkies has two music videos called "Loosing Control" and "Sex Drug”. Speaker Junkies has appeared at many local venues including Grove , House of Blues and The Roxy. Scoring films and production work is also in his interest. "Dust of Life" is his first feature film and also his first acting role in any type of acting. Tempo is now currently working in collaboration with multiple side projects including dual sets “Tempo and Staley”,“Seek&Hyde” along with DJ Duda and Dreadhauk "Josh Grounded"  Tempo enjoys his time and experience on these projects and continues to pursue Deejaying and producing electronic music.
