We are super excited to present the 92nd podcast featuring Orphic Resident, Beste Hira!

Beste Hira is an adventurous, strong willed and motivated person now based in Amsterdam with Istanbul as hometown. These aspects have brought her to the position she stands as an artist today. Music has been a lifelong priority. She started at the Mersin Fine Arts High School Music Department where she studied classical piano and cello. She continued her professional music career at Ondokuz Mayıs University where she has successfully graduated from the Department of Music.

Her career as a dj/producer started soon after and is why she decided to move to Amsterdam. She favors the ethnic, groovy and dark side of techno that drives you through the night. Her broad education of music can be heard in her music productions where she meticulously experiments withs sounds to produce her signature sound. In her performances she has a determined mindset to create a complete sensory experience

Initially a duo turned one-man unit, TWR72 has been stacking some fire transmissions for the likes of Hayes, SK_Eleven, KEY and their own imprint, Float Records. Trading out hi-velocity wares all set at cranking up the room’s heat two notches up, the Amsterdam-based producer champions a sound fully geared towards shaking dance floors upside-down with its implacable mix of flaring uptempo drives, sleek programming and crisp sound design. Punching in our series with a double hour workout spanning the breadth of his arsenal, from heavy-duty dubs to true-school modular destroyers, TWR72 has us surfing a tsunami of paced-up face-melters and zero-G acrobatics that won’t let loose on you until your batteries have run dry for good. Definitely more physically strenuous than your average routine, expect to be sweating buckets.

Recording of my Live Act at Jardim Sonoro, in Lisbon. I used two controllers to control Ableton (108 knobs & 12 buttons) and an Erica Synths Perkons (also processed in Ableton in real time). 95‰ of the synth ideas you hear were created in the moment. No scene launch in ableton whatsoever. Let me know if you find the 5% pre recorded beats :D

It’s a completely raw recording, no level adjustment, no mastering and no editing (yes you can hear a little crash on my computer near the end).

Championing a sound both rugged and trance-inducing, Porto-based Brazilian producer Marcal clocks in this week with two hours blending future-proof warehouse rave material and claustrophobic 4x4 maneuvers. Hot on the heels of his latest ’Nature of the Future’ EP on Donato Dozzy and Neel’s imprint Spazio Disponibile, Marcal takes us on a mind-bending ride down raucous sine-scapes and brooding, verbed-out atmospheres, constantly pushing the envelope of techno as can be experienced these days. Resuming its course as a means for transcending our (currently much gloomy) zeitgeist, techno here gets back on its revolution-friendly tracks, finding its second breath as a metamorphic tool for blazing new paths and routes towards a better, more intelligently designed world. There goes a mix that summons the very finest of Marcal’s boundary-pushing vision and killer knack for crafting memorable and emancipatory floor narratives. Brace yourselves.
