before we could continue talks with the folks at southern, we had to:
A - change our name and
B - record a demo of some tracks for the next LP.
C - learn how to tune/play our instruments
2 out of 3 ain't bad, right? 
we set up as few mic's as possible at our practice spot at the time, laid off the takes live to D.A.T. and sent 4 tracks their way. for some reason, they still signed us.
in hindsight, the vocal mic's should have actually worked and been pulled back in the "mix". they didn't like "easy, hard, genius" which was fine. we probably played that song live once and just barely want to even include it here. some songs don't see the light of day for a reason. 
they don't call it a demo for nothing.
