Requiem

During Covid ex-Pat San Francisco female DJ, Trini Allwood, began streaming her set from the Rising Sun club in Yokohama, Japan. Completely alone in the club she live streamed her set across the world on the internet. She was mixing the work of minimalist composers Phillip Glass, Steve Reich and Terry Riley with 1970's disco grooves. Eventually the tracks began to add a lush synth sound and a mesmeric, trance like music evolved for the lone dancers across the planet, usually accompanied bt the use of drugs like ecstacy. This music bacame known as "BlissTrip" .Trini unfortunately died in a car accident in 2024 but David Taylor Hughes has remixed and reimagined much of her most popular work in a Blisstrip revival. All compositions created, played, recorded and mixed by David Taylor Hughes and Trini Allwood.

This August, Berlin based DJ & producer Martin Roth follows up last year’s #1 Beatport release ‘Hypno Seq EP’ with his ‘Organic Cold Brewed Hipster Funk EP’.

Continually supported by the likes of Solomun, Sasha, John Digweed, Eric Prydz, Tiefschwarz, and Pete Tong, Roth’s penchant for the trippier shade of deep house is beautifully exhibited on the extended-play, with each track as unique and refined as the EP name suggests.
