Alembic is a culmination of my progress as a musician up until this point. I consider it the best work I’ve done so far in my life. It is literally a record of where I am during this time.

This record was written and recorded between 4/9 and 4/19/22. Everything was done by myself. The lyrics were “assisted” by TENDRELbot (randomized single words). It is my voice. EVERYTHING was composed on a single channel in Ableton Live 11.1 except a few bits here and there. Basically I resampled the master channel with all the instruments and vocals and arranged the whole thing from these chunks of master channel audio. It’s a very fast and efficient way of working. All the sounds except for a few drum sounds are my own original sounds made from scratch.

The visuals were done by selectively randomizing all my original visual content. I used Ableton to send Midi information to Resolume and recorded the output.

Alembic explores themes of artificial intellgence, humanity, and technology (or maybe it doesn’t). It’s really up to you to interpret it as you see fit.
