Geboren & aufgewachsen in Hamburg, entdeckte Sophie Cut mit 19 Jahren in Berlin ihre Leidenschaft für elektronische Musik. Das Auflegen lernte sie jedoch erst Jahre später während der Corona Pandemie. Seit 2 Jahren ist sie nun als DJ in der Technoszene unterwegs, und hat sich in verschiedenen Stilrichtungen ausprobiert. Mittlerweile findet sich ihr Sound vorwiegend im groovig-hypnotischem Techno & Trance wieder, der mit sphärischen Klangwelten, treibenden Rhythmen und orchestralen Elementen zu einem filmischen Tanzerlebnis einlädt. 

Beim Auflegen ist es ihr Ziel eine musikalische Reise zu erschaffen, die mit subtiler Variation und dosierten Build Ups den Sog des tänzerischen Flow-Erlebens erzeugt. Jedes Set ist dabei stark von ihrer zweiten Leidenschaft geprägt; dem Medium Film, welches stets als künstlerische Inspirationsquelle dient. So auch für ihren ersten produzierten Track, der ebenfalls im Podcast zu hören ist und für den verschiedene Samples aus Film-Soundtracks verwendet wurden.

Sophie Cut ist Mitgründerin des queerfeministischen @lola.kollektiv, das sich u.a. für mehr Sichtbarkeit von FLINTA*-Personen in der Clubkultur einsetzt.

After a very long break, I’m especially excited to announce a new episode of the TONKASSETTE podcast series. This time, the mix comes from a good friend and longtime head of communications for TONKASSETTE: DJ and producer Bigalke, one of the most consistent artists in Leipzig’s techno scene.

As a longtime resident DJ at the Distillery, Bigalke blends various genres like techno, industrial, and broken beats into his own signature sound.

With his label “DON'T BE AFRAID OF YOURSELF”, he has created a platform where he can fully dedicate himself to techno—far from trends and hypes.

Bigalke is also a core member of HTXSTHSTX, a Dresden-based collective known for organizing a wide range of events.

His 90-minute podcast showcases a broad stylistic spectrum, ranging from harder sounds to experimental soundscapes.

The set was recorded live at Elipamanoke as part of an HTXSTHSTX event.
