One of the purest forms of art I have found was realized by the African American slave workers in the United States through the long and cruel years of slavery. I will never be able to understand the extent of cruelty one part of humanity inflicted upon another, but the songs they sang will live on with us forever. 
This is an homage to the art that was born in, lived through and survived their struggle.
