The Tenth Man presents Sail We Must directed by Grizzly, a short film telling the beautiful story of the chance meeting between iconic artist Andrew Weatherall and fisherman Gerard Sheehy. The 11-minute film explores how the words of wisdom Sheehy shared with Weatherall changed his path and went on to influence another generation of musicians and creatives.

We launched the film on February 16th 2022 in a sold out Sugar Club and we were privileged to have Billy Scurry, Cian Ó Cíobháin and Gerard Sheehy himself join us for a live discussion about Andrew Weatherall's links to Ireland.

Thursday Afternoon in Balearica - Special Guest: Howler

Fast becoming the hottest social gathering in West Yorkshire, Flash Atkins Music's monthly 'Calder Del Sol Sessions' at Barbary’s are bringing a bit of the classic Ibizan vibe to Mytholmroyd in the Upper Calder Valley.

With a soundtrack covering all corners of the record shop provided by Flash & the occasional guests, this after work social shindig is a must for music & craft beer lovers alike.

For the month of June it was Paper's #1 brew maker Chris Massey Music's turn to join a top crowd with top musical vibes on the hottest day of the year so far.
It was so good they even made the sunshine instantly disappear pretty much as soon as it started.

Calder Del Sol Sessions - Flash Atkins & Massey Part 1

At the Center of the universe is man. He is a curious man. He plays a clarinet, and conjures obscure alien sonic aesthetics from noisy machines. He channels a diverse collage of musical languages through his work, always underpinned by a catchy beat. When he is not making beats he is proliferating others’ music with artists that orbit him and his label, Metronomicon. He is a musical maelstrøm at the Center of the universe, and he is our first guest back for the Jaeger mix after a long hiatus for the series.

Jørgen Sissyfus Skjulstad is the man at the Center of the universe. The musical project has been a fixture in Oslo and Norway with records and live performances transmitting the artist’s singular voice across formats and contexts. Perfectly at home in a DJ booth, as well as a stage, Center of the Universe’s music moves effortlessly between worlds, often bringing disparate musical planets together in the process. 

Between non-western scales and pop-culture musical references, a post-modern spirit moves through his records, his videos and his live show. It was indeed a live-show he insisted upon when he asked him to revive the Jaeger mix series, encouraging the series to capture everything on camera and in audio for this occasion. Carting some synthesisers, drum machines, light-bulbs and a traffic sign into the sauna, Center of the Universe captivated with an esoteric live show, one which we’re happy to play back  both in the audio and visual format today.

Duncan really should need no introduction as he's been involved in the industry for so long you've almost certainly heard of him or at least heard some of his work. Primarily an instrumentalist, Duncan has played guitar and bass on some massive releases. 

Around 2013, after a hiatus from electronic music,  Duncan created Tici Taci Records which is a mainstay of top quality releases. The birth of the label was overseen by none other than Mr Andrew Weatherall (RIP Guv). The quality of the music released on Tici Taci really is second to none and we urge you to go and check out the label and support what they are doing!
