This is my contribution to the first compilation 'GLYPHS : WOOD' that has been released on the label @qeone.rec
I am very proud and happy to be part of this amazing project. 
This wonderful collection of tracks is really unique as all pieces are based on one concept which is completely sound design oriented. The idea behind this release series is to have one material or substance which will then be interpreted by the artists. For this very first compilation the label chose the material Wood.

MTRL X Tenzia - Strange Signs

Welcome to our friend @tenziasounds to this 27th episode of the Herbarium series. 🥁 
He recorded a journey containing many own compositions next to carefully selected gems, fitting nicely together to tell the story of the flower Bellis Perennis. 

Here is the little backstory about his choise:
For this episode, the daisy—Gänseblümchen in German—serves as inspiration. A small and familiar flower, yet one that holds an almost otherworldly presence when viewed through the eyes of a child. It was the first flower Tenzia remembers noticing while exploring the world with boundless imagination, back when the size of things was still unknown and a simple bloom could become an entire universe. This mix draws from those memories—of wonder, scale, and the strange way perception can stretch and transform. An element of mystery and eeriness flows through the selections, but also a playful energy, reflected not only in surreal soundscapes but in a rhythmic, danceable pulse that keeps everything in motion, mirroring the fantastical, strange, and sometimes silly stories once imagined while lost in thought.

We’re excited to spotlight IO family member Tenzia with a new entry in our Log-Series.
To accompany the release of his upcoming eight-track album Tumble, he delivers a mix that reflects the album’s core themes: embracing disorientation, turning every stumble into momentum, and channeling it all into raw dancefloor energy.

In this logbook entry, Tenzia showcases his own sonic vision alongside tracks produced by other IO artists. The mix reflects his characteristic balance of fluid arrangements and steady, propulsive groove, rooted in the club-forward identity of our collective.

Setting the stage for a powerful statement, we announce Munich-based
Tenzia‘s release of ‚Tumble,‘ an eight track album that finds grace, humor,
and pure dance energy in the inevitable moments of disorientation. The
artist reframes every fall and stumble not as a failure, but as the most crucial
opportunity for radical redirection and personal growth. Musically, the album
is driven by complex, evolving arrangements and striking progression, desig-
ned to capture a wide emotional range. This depth never compromises the
club‘s energy, as every piece is meticulously engineered to be a functional
floor-tool. Stylistically, the tracks feature irresistible grooves, pulsating bassli-
nes, and precisely crafted synthesizers combined with organic textures and
percussions. Signature pieces like the title track ‚Tumble‘ and ‚Skewed‘ stand
out, where the synthesizer sound design creates a strong feeling of forward
pushing tension interwoven with its relentless bass section. ‚Running Slowly‘
forms a deliberate contrast to the album‘s faster-paced energy with its sub-
heavy, bouncy rhythm and slight dub reference. Tenzia’s bold vision proves
that profoundly honest introspection can be just as explosive as pure, capti-
vating dance music.

Tenzia is an audiovisual art and music project that pushes conventional
thought patterns and genre boundaries. The productions mix different styles
with a focus on sound design, rhythmic grooves and psychedelic soundsca-
pes. There are influences from techno, house, psychedelic, experimental,
drum and bass, dub, hip-hop, tek, breakcore, IDM and more. Tenzia is part
of the Munich-based audiovisual label and collective IO Records, which fre-
quently collaborates with label members such as Polygonia, Dycide, Mordio,
MTRL and FTP Doctor.

The Tenzia project has also released productions on labels such as Qeo-
ne and Further Sessions. 

The first EP “Cold to the Touch” was released on 13.12.2023 on IO Records.
