The EP is breaking boundaries and forming connections between ambient and timeless dub techno grooves. The EP opens with „7am“ which is an interplay of nature sounds, warm pads and breakbeats. „2pm“ is a colorful and warm journey into deep space. The EP closes with „3am“ which shows the tension between the organic warmth and uplifting energy of a dance floor track, followed by a heavy and thundery remix by the very talented Portuguese DJ and producer Robert Hoff.

New indie label Subject Matter Records releases double 12” album A Perfectly Reasonable Question by Hadamard

Electro / IDM artist Hadamard expands his horizon to lush Ambient and Downtempo music with his new 10 track album A Perfectly Reasonable Question, out now on Vinyl, Digital Download and Streaming Services.

Artist and entrepreneur Janko Bartelink, a.k.a. Hadamard has been releasing electronic music since his first release on legendary underground label Bunker Records in 2006. Following up with a steady stream of music on labels such as Solar One Music, Transient Force, Semantica, Mighty Robot Recordings, Propaganda Moscow and Last Known Trajectory, 2023 marks the year he takes matters into his own hand and starts his own label, Subject Matter Records. The first release is here, a beautifully produced and designed double vinyl album which takes the listener on a journey through existential questions in search for meaning.

A Perfectly Reasonable Question is a double 12”album which combines 90’s style downtempo, dubby hiphop beats and ambient interludes to create a grainy, greyscale soundtrack to a quest for meaning. 

This album is the inaugural release to Subject Matter Records, a new label which focuses on releasing concept driven electronic music. And this first release is a case in point. Everything here is aimed at telling a story, from the music, to the track titles through the full color artwork. Join Hadamard on a quest for answers to existential questions in which we contemplate the human condition, our place in the universe, beauty, consolation, death and, ultimately, the why behind all of it. Whether or not you find answers is up to you. But, in any case, enjoy the journey.

Manuela, just like her music, it is big, bright,
genuine, welcoming. Resident at the legendary Same Bitches, she has already made quite a name for herself in the Berlin scene ; playing in well-established clubs such as Watergate, 
Aeden, OHM, Arena, About Blank, Globus (Tresor), Golden Gate, Kit-Kat and more. Following her own words, music is her way to satiate the need of expressing herself.

Born in Spain but irrevocably drawn to the city since she started playing and collecting records - here, Manuela blossomed. It is in the fertile grounds of the best dance floors, the best sound systems, the best record stores, the most like-minded people that she find inspiration and motivation to keep life and music
always in progress.

We welcome label artist @futuristant to the show for episode 32!

Futuristant is an alchemist and his productions are a real melting pot of nostalgic influences, he doesn’t limit himself in just one style but always maintains that retro futuristic touch that makes him recognizable.

Buying his first turntables at the age of 14 - Christian made a name for himself in his hometown of Rome within a few short years, playing in all the best clubs. In 2014 he founded the project Riesen with his friend Davide. Riesen’s music has been multiple times in Top 100 Beatport being supported and played from djs like Maceo Plex, ARTBAT, Above and Beyond and many others. Their releases propelled them the chance to play in many different countries around Europe and beyond. In 2018 Christian created Futuristant, his solo project made to experiment with different sounds and contrasting influences. The first release ‘Future Dance’ on Encants Records was a big success and shot him quickly into a wider audience, having been supported by Solomun multiple times that year. 

Since then the enigmatic Futuristant has released on labels such as Bordello a Parigi, Ombra International, Roam Recordings, Aeon Audio, Rotten City, Nein Recordings, and most recently on Kompakt Records.
