Dissident Music is proud to announce Progressive Revelations Volume 2, a new unmixed compilation featuring 20 of our favorite Dissident tracks of the last several years. Following in the tradition of excellence set by Progressive Revelations (Volume 1) in 2023, this new collection showcases the breadth and depth of the label's sound and features some of its most notable artists. Indeed, Progressive Revelations Volume 2 features tracks and remixes from some of the most notable and exciting artists in the world of progressive dance music. This includes both established and rising artists such as Amir Telem, Kamilo Sanclemente, Mind Of Us, Noel Sanger, Jamie Stevens, Gai Barone, Hobin Rude, Mono Electric Orchestra, J Lauda, Panayiotis Tassis, Abstrakt.Digital, Kaspar Tasane and many more. Since its inception, Dissident Music has been a mainstay in the progressive house scene. After several years of successful releases, the label went on a brief hiatus, resurfacing in 2018 as a division of Miami’s Essential Media Group. Dissident has gone from strength to strength in the years since, releasing high-quality music, garnering support from the world’s top DJs, and consistently landing in the progressive house top 10 on Beatport. With Progressive Revelations, we take a look back at recent and foundational releases and we offer the package at a budget price. Progressive Revelations is set for release on January 26, 2024, and will be available on all major digital music platforms.

Paul Kalkbrenner - Feed Your Head (Broken Robot RMX) TECHNO

Samotarev is back at Bonzai Progressive with the superb Voice Of Phangan. This is a special one from Alexey and it's clear to see how much of his talent he put into it. The track oozes quality and delivers a solid progressive flow from start to finish. Alexey gives special thanks to Julie Forrest who recorded her magical Nepalese instruments which are used so beautifully in the track. His last outing was on remix duties for Nico Parisi's Raklet back at the start of 2016, great to see him back once more and we're sure we'll be seeing and hearing much more in the future. 

The Original Mix intros with a nice punchy kick drum and a dark synth sound that mesmerizes. A sharp clap comes though which is quickly followed by a rising pad that brings a cinematic quality to the sound. A superb deep bassline brings a warming glow to the track and we soon find ourselves locked into a solid deep progressive groove. On the break we are treated to some beautiful sounds courtesy of an array of Nepalese instruments recorded by Julie Forrest, these sound are the perfect accompaniment to the deep and dark grooves on offer. A top notch cut and a definite must have.

UK DJ and producer Jamie Baggotts steps up to the remix plate and delivers another one of his solid progressive cuts for our listening pleasure. His last showing on Bonzai Progressive was on the remix for Rise and Fall's New Impressions EP, which gained a great deal of support from across the board. Always a pleasure to have this guy's work drop into the mailbox and no doubt we'll be in for more tasty treats in the future. As ever we are treated to some tasty progressive treats from Jamie as he pulls out all the stops to deliver a beautifully constructed arrangement of sounds. Right from the off we get a sense of the deep prog vibes on offer as chunky kick are met with crispy hi hats and a swirling pad in the background. An array of cool percussions keeps the rhythm flowing as a stuttering synth line comes into play. This is soon followed by a fantastic deep throbbing bassline that takes us so deep into the abyss we're in danger of never returning. A brilliant display once more that is not to be missed.

Prolific Bonzai artist Audio Noir is back once more on remix duty with his epic 20 minutes plus - An Audio Noir Soundtrack. This guy is surely one of the hardest working artists on the scene as far as music production is concerned. He churns out the quality at every turn, and this was shown on his last cut - Progressive Tales 2 as well as a remix pack of his From London To Moscow. He also delivered a sublime double header DJ mix for our In The Mix - Progressive Sessions series which gained some great support. This particular mix took just under one month to complete and contains hundreds of sounds. The idea was to have a long, intense Zen-like build up and then transition into a full on prog banger, we think you'll agree that this concept has been realised to the fullest. The remix intros with a very cool spoken vocal that brings an interesting narrative to the track. In the background we have a chaotic, noisy sequence that is joined by a deep droning bass pad. The vocal continues as various other sounds come through including some superb melodic synths and FX. This kaleidoscope of sound comes together to form a sublime and surreal experience that has you completely hooked for the duration. This epic monster is not done yet though, at the midway point we get down to the business of pumping beats and tight percussions that create a flowing rhythm. The warm bass and melodic synths takeover and we're hypnotized by the solid progressive groove that follows. A simply stunning piece that will most definitely grab the attention of many, especially the technically minded, experimental DJ's out there.

Petar Dundov has made an impressive mark on Proton Music thus far with a pair of typically high-class remixes. Reworkings of Simos Tagias and Huminal in September 2019 and 2020 has seen the Croatian become a welcome figure on the label. Returning to the flagship imprint after releasing the glorious new "Ghostmachine" EP with Gregor Tresher on Dubfire's SCI+TEC imprint in October 2020, Petar's debut solo offering for Proton Music sees the beautiful "Salvation / Nature of Nature" take centre stage.

"Salvation" is a typically smooth and melodious offering that glitters with delayed analogue synth lines and syncopated bass pattern. Building in seamless fashion atmospheric pads and a squelching 303-inspired lead line add intrigue and dancefloor character before counterpoint lines emerge at the mid-point. In tandem, a driving beat and rapid-fire hi-hat percussion create a stunning hypnotic framework. "Nature of Nature" lilts gently along with cleverly programmed bass patterns and percussive wood-block groove that hints at verdant jungle atmosphere. Subtle melodic lines sit atop in shimmering arrays and the 303 character contributes to the EP narrative while stereo-panned pads add class through emotive chord changes.

An award-winning iconic figure with two ARIAs to his name with band, Infusion, Jamie Stevens has been a welcome addition to the Proton family with his trademark sound and meticulous production methods. A global touring schedule and a regular on the likes of Bedrock, Lost & Found and Replug saw the Australian remix Rudy's "All Things Fade" for Proton Music in late 2019 while a reworking of Sam Hopgood's "Lobster" in May 2020 saw an impressive Particles debut. Now returning, the aptly titled "Deeper Version" finds Jamie Stevens present a glorious take on "Nature of Nature" as the subtle melodic flourishes of the original ripple across a backdrop of glittering arpeggio and swathes of additional production material. A new lead line swims across the stereo spectrum as a combination of open cutoff filters and textured pads create a wonderful zenith at the mid-point. A rolling beat and percussion adds head-shaking groove to proceedings in an inspiring new interpretation.

Following on the footsteps of their "Astral" EP in May 2020, Trilucid & Phil Martyn have become firm favourites with the Proton cognoscenti. Via the original and standout remixes from Dmitry Molosh and Bluum, the trio built upon success garnered from a pair of remixes for Stas Drive in March 2019 and Pole Folder's "Serengeti" in April 2020. Now returning to the label, Trilucid & Phi Martyn have produced a gloriously melodic reworking of Dundov's title track as their combined talent produce a dark and sinister vibe that drives effortlessly a grooved bass pattern. An enhanced 303 synth line adds weight and acetylene-torch edge to proceedings as clever use of original components, plus a swathe of original production material, create a dynamic remix that opens up with smooth harmonious tones at the mid-point and into the third movement. The result is another high-calibre offering from the seasoned UK artists.

Offering "Salvation" via a pair of new original track and remixes from Jamie Stevens, Trilucid & Phil Martyn, Petar Dundov has provided a musical force of nature.
