Klartraum - Universe (Brickman Remix)

Although it is a contemporary audiovisual take on disco, WTFunk? is an archetypal M4CHINE release.
A live act by nature, but not traditionally so, M4CHINE’s riffs on the virtual band members" concept by globally knitting together performers who would not usually have the opportunity to play together in a physical situation.

The hook - the funkiest of licks - and solo guitar work is performed by Henning Rümenapp, guitarist from German rock band "Guano Apes". Vocalist Mehandi Hasan sings with a trademark smoky India vibe, backed up by Misha Law, a Bristol based female singer. Live percussion provides a garnish, performed by Jacob Kiersch, drummer of the synth-pop band "Alphaville" and the German rock band "Gods of Blitz", in tandem with tabla master Naushad Khan. Hitting the MS-20 for some classic psychedelic monophonic action is Andy Ypsilon, from the famous German hip-hop band ‘Die Fantastischen Vier’.  
Then, to totally throw a curveball into the mix, Ulli Freise of Elster Silberflug, a specialist in medieval and renaissance music, goes beyond retro equipped with a lute. And finally, to top off the package like an elaborate glacier cherry, WTFunk? features the world’s second most desirable piece of dance music production equipment after the Roland TB-303 - a tractor. Yep, of the “digs up potato” variety. Pure analogue action. 
The vibrancy of the creative product has rubbed off on the Lucidflow co-owners. Nadja Lind abandons her trademark overcast dub tones and lets the sun shine right through, retaining the elements of the original but sharpening the edges for more of a dancefloor orientated take. Helmut Ebritsch pulls out the big guns with a warp-bass vs. psychedelic guitar solo soundmash.

She began her career as a music selector and cultural promoter when she joined the team at the Cvlt-o Mx | Cvlt-O platform, with whom she has collaborated on the creation and curating of alternative sound experiences and events. Since then, she has been part of multiple independent projects and offerings in Mexico City, Querétaro, and Pachuca, participating with collectives such as Terror Clash, Sintetika Secuencia, Misa Negra, Tanzqualität, Terror Glitch, Dissociados Media, Club Furies, Pagan Love Song, El Portal del Underground, and the Macabro Film Festival.

 Empusa's sound is characterized by a powerful blend of electronic rhythms ranging from the harsh and visceral to the melodic and profound, spanning genres such as EBM, industrial, TBM, indie dance, dark wave, and Italo disco. This months guest is Kutkh Jackdaw, a Scottish producer and DJ, now based in Brighton, whose productions and mixes take influence from a wide variety of different genres, from post-punk, darkwave and EBM, to synth, industrial and techno. He uses a range of techniques in his productions including a heavy use of inventive sampling, combined with extensive use of vintage 80’s hardware. 

Kutkh Jackdaw co-runs Brighton based event and podcast series Acid Reflux and is also a part of DarkDisco.org's operations team. Over the past few years, he has been spreading his unique combination of genres in cities such as Brussels, Berlin, Lisbon, London, Manchester and Glasgow.

Some sort of heavy fog lifts as you delve into this release by Teik Arô. “Beyond The Tree” lets us in on a fractal orchard, revealing a bassline capable of lifting you off your feet, floating for its duration. 

Time seems to accelerate on the fragile pitches of “Embers From The Moon” and is euphorically reconstructed through the pulses of “Vicious Wipe Out” and freeze over on the weightless impermanence of “Insomnia”. 

“Morning Recipe” presents us with a hyperspeed, anxious euphoria, that seems to be lulled by the futuroid dub channels of “Cryptbloom”

Fall Shock (aka Francesco Kay) makes a bold entrance on Power Station with Avoidance, the title track from his debut EP. Rooted in machine-driven club energy and echoing the spirit of ‘90s and early 2000s UK dance music, it rises with hypnotic force. Both Avoidance and its counterpart The Age of Clowns explore themes of confusion, resistance, and rebirth—crafted for those who never give up.

"Camera Obscura" is an exploration of the grey areas of perception, an inner journey captured in the dark mirror of an endless forest. This EP dives into a flow of raw EBM, industrial textures, mechanical beats and cold synthetic layers, where each track acts as a sonic snapshot of a dissolving world. Between nocturnal ritual and inner wandering, the music becomes the negative of an altered memory. Elevated by the post-production of Scan X, a legendary figure of techno, Ad Fiction’s universe takes on a new dimension.

Last year Nadja Lind and Lucidflow decided to challenge preconceptions with Brain Candy. Scientifically proven to give you healthy teeth and bones, as well as giving you the ability to rearrange your body into a series of geometric shapes on any given dance floor, it was the kind of candy the world had been crying out for. Not one to rest on their laurels, Lucidflow have been working on a fresh new flavours of candy for 2012, and are proud to present the 1 year anniversary Brain Candy Remixed package.
Samplers have been gradually released from the Lucidflow HQ and have been currying favour with highly influential DJ/Nutritionists such as John Digweed. This of course owes a great debt to the exclusive array of guest candy artisans involved with the project.
Names such as Hernan Catteneo & Soundexile, D. Well, there are a multitude of depths contained within this package; G- Man offers a gnarled and chewy churn when tackling After The Rain, Silky draws inspiration from the classic synths of the 80's with a darkly Miami Vice-esque reworking of The Pretty, UGLH get gritty on a robofunked up The Preach, you'll find Yapacc's masterful Sorry Books remix coats your tongue in sparkles and fairy dust, while Grunbox jacks up Chat-Lag with sharp edged tech percussion.
Fans of the hugely popular Limbus flavour of Brain Candy are well catered for; there are no punches pulled with D. Diggler's tribal tech reworking, Hernan Catteneo and Soundexile are happy to wrap you up in airy candy floss, and Paul Loraine indulges in a dark and treacly dub.
Talking of dub, those with the spirit of Jamaica in their veins are well catered for with Saytes' acid groove that is spun out of title track Brain Candy, the eponymous Dub Taylor scatters harmonic chords through a deep rub of After The Rain, and Ali Khan scatters glitch brass throughout restrained perspective on Chat-Lag.
Finally, those of a deep persuasion have no further to look than Oliver Schories fluid progressive rework of Drifting Elements, Helmut Ebritsch's mood shifting A Choice remix or Sasch BBC & Caspar's light and floaty version of Brain Candy.
So put your toothbrushes away and prepare for a sugar high, Brain Candy Remixes will be available in many a reputable audio confectioner from 22nd October. Get sweet.

In the world of techno, Terence Fixmer is a highly respected figure, celebrated for his innovative and genre-defying approach to music production. With a career spanning over two decades, he has released numerous albums and EPs on some of the most prestigious techno labels. His remixing talents have extended to tracks from industry giants like Depeche Mode, Yann Tiersen, Sven Väth, Dave Clarke, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, Indochine, and more.
Terence Fixmer is renowned for the quality of his live performances, gracing renowned clubs and festivals worldwide.

Chapter 1: 1998-2007.

In 1998, Terence established his own label, Planete Rouge. From 1999 to 2007, he gained worldwide recognition with the release of his debut album, "Muscle Machine," under DJ Hell's legendary International Deejay Gigolos imprint. This album masterfully blended elements of electro, industrial, EBM, and techno, pioneering a dancefloor-oriented style later recognized as "Techno Body Music." Tracks like "Electrostatic," "Body Pressure," and "Electric Vision" are still hailed as modern classics today.

In 2002, Fixmer joined forces with Nitzer Ebb's lead singer, Douglas McCarthy, to form Fixmer/McCarthy. Together, they released two full-length albums that pushed the boundaries of Techno EBM to the maximum. The album "Fixmer McCarthy Between the Devil" has earned its place as a revered classic, and the band has become iconic in the Techno EBM scene.The duo has performed their energetic live sets at numerous renowned clubs and festivals all across the globe.Fixmer/McCarthy earned respect in the global scene for their unique way of creating truly pioneering sound fusions by elegantly blending the aggression of Techno Body Music and the sensuality of Electronica.

Chapter 2: 2007-2015

Fixmer continued to expand the horizons of modern techno, releasing albums and EPs under his own name as well as various alter egos, showcasing his ability to maintain a unique sonic personality while avoiding repetition. His works found homes on highly respected techno labels such as Electric De Luxe (notably the "Comedy of Menace" album in 2010), Prologue, Jealous God, CLR (including the "Depth Charged" album in 2014), Aufnahme + Wiedergabe.

Chapter 3: 2015-2020

Terence Fixmer continued to evolve his sound in 2015. His EP "Aktion Mekanik," originally released in 2003, was reissued on Ostgut Ton, marking his entry into the Ostgut Ton family—the flagship label of Berlin's Berghain club. He subsequently released various EPs and his album "Through the Cortex."
 Fixmer's distinct sound signature remained in high demand, leading to remix requests from notable artists such as Depeche Mode, Front 242, Ellen Allien, Front Line Assembly, Arnaud Rebotini, Yann Tiersen etc..

Chapter 4: 2020- 
 
Terence produced music for Thomas Cohen (formerly of Scum) with tracks like "Braid" and "Chain of Love" on Mute Records.

Additionally, he signed with the legendary label Mute Records, renowned for its roster of innovative and influential artists. 
In 2022, he released his first album on Mute Records titled "Shifting Signals" .
His music has been used by Fashion brand, such as Prada, Raf Simons ...
A 2nd album is in the plan for 2024.


Terence Fixmer's unwavering drive to craft experimental, mind-bending, and relentless sounds continues to transcend the boundaries of the musical mainstream, solidifying his place as a visionary within the techno and electronic music landscape.
