Plasmeed is a new musical project born in 2023 on the shores of Lake Geneva. After many years away from production, the post-pandemic environment has given them a new creative lease of life, of which this EP is one of the first to bear witness. 

Like Plasmeed’s music, this EP claims to be a chaotic blend of genres, which are intended to be perceived as different sides of the same object.
It’s a wind-swept picture, with simple Ambiant Music breezes and more straightforward bass gusts. All mingling with the melancholy and darkness of cigarettes, whose ashes were the soil on which this work was built.

What was your inspiration for this mix: I record 99% of my mixes on my laptop with no cue or controller, so I focus on selection and feelings over sick mixstyle. This mix is a capsule of some of my all time favorite tracks.

If we were going to a party and needed to get the pre-game turned up what would be the song you play?: Like a G6 - Far East Movement 

Where was the first place you played? I’m pretty sure it was in the Palmer House/Moss attic at a rave we threw. 

In and outs for 2024: In: magic, out: lying. 

Advice to the new upcoming DJs: Play what you want, play what gets you excited, don’t play based on who else is playing or dancing in the crowd. Learn the basics of signal and gain so you’re not frying rave sound systems lol + learning to produce makes DJing more fun.

On stage, Valeska seamlessly shifts from soft embraces to heavy hits. Her musical excursions have also been featured on cassettes for Leipzig's Prepaid Records label and on radio programs for Retreat Radio, n10.as and Radio Alhara. She has also curated several events at Leipzig’s Pracht and at Aquarium e.V., and co-founded the event series swish and the label Shell Tapes.
