Nice Sounds

This is a mix for mourning the loss of those who have departed.  This is also a mix to honor those who may be departing soon.  I made this for a friend who lost someone close to him.  There are a lot of songs that you may have already heard.  There are a few unreleased versions and new stuff too.

Random Rab - Mourning Mix

The remix that won the colorStar remix contest in early 2011, and was subsequently released on the remix CD "Komplementer". 

Still one of my favorite pieces I've done; as usual a bunch of stories with this one too. I think I was very lucky in many ways when this came about: some people went as far as predicting that this would open a new career for me, but life just went on I suppose. (Not that I'm complaining.)

Note: this is not the exact same as the album version, which was re-mastered - this is the original mix/master.

colorStar - Falling (Gargaj remix)

Enjoyed working with Nils Frahm's beautiful recordings very much as you can imagine.

This is an extended edit incorporating both the "Do" and "Re" compositions.

Apart from Nils's piano recordings, I used some Machinedrum and guitar obviously.

Soundtrack for the Conspiracy 64k "Offscreen Colonies" available at http://conspiracy.hu/release/64k/offscreen_colonies/

This was done in a very short time but it was all the more fun and challenge to work on this - the brief was "slightly retro, uplifting, slowish", so I tried to make it sound like a bit of an 80s sci-fi movie endscroller track. Despite some serious micromanagement to fit the future visuals, I'm very very happy with the end result.
