And we are very glad that our closest friends Andhim, Yousef, Paul C & Paolo Martini, Pele & Shawnecy and Darlyn Vlys celebrate with us with an exclusive track for this release. Of course Monika Kruse spend some days in the studio together with Namito for her very own submission to the compilation. Curious to hear your favorites...

Although Berlin based producer, DJ and live act Re.You has never had a full release on Moon Harbour before now, he appeared on the Shades of White EP alongside Philip Bader back in 2013. Now though, this three track solo outing confirms him as a perfect fit for the label.

In the past four years, German born Marius Maier has won himself a lot of fans and admirers thanks to his releases on labels like Mobilee, Souvenir and Saved Records, so his credentials are well assured.

Title track ‘Don’t Stop’ is a loose and playful thing that chucks loopy, circular drums, little vocal riffs, synth stabs and tumbling toms into the mix and lets them all groove along for almost six infectious minutes. It’s a spritely, silvery and slithering concoction that makes you shake your every limb.

‘Stare’ is a deeper, darker thing with rattling snares rolling over flappy kick drums and wobbling synths ducking in and out of the space left behind. It’s a tumultuous, drum lead affair that toys with your expectation, threatening to drop or explode but never quite doing so, instead keeping you right on the edge of your seat throughout.

The final offering is ‘Nian’ which again has super well defined drums and hits all tumbling and sparking off each other. It’s spacious stuff, too, and the indecipherable foreign language vocals add another layer of intrigue to what is already a fascinating cut.

If you’ve ever heard drums as pristine and metallic, as shiny and glistening as these made by Re.You, then do let us know… they are things of wonder that demand you dance in their presence.

In a much anticipated return, one of the scene’s most esteemed producers Davide Squillace is back with a ten track album. To be released on Crosstown Rebels this March, Once Upon A Time In Napoli provides an eclectic range of both hard-hitting and introspective productions. This release paves the way for an exciting year ahead with several more releases in the pipeline. 

Prepare to be immediately drawn into the album with effervescent opening track, The Boogie Man. Exploring a range of wooden percussion, Squillace layers up with distant chord synthesis, statement vocal and a sturdy kick. In The Mood For Love follows with an array of drum pad beats developing gradually into an anticipated second drop littered with claps and sitar-esque melodies. Distorted vocals and incredible percussion, provided by Italian drum guru Paki Palmieri , form the basis of Dada Is Back. Fourth track on the album, Napoli Texas, opens with a delicate symbol and floundering bassline. An excellent example of the renowned producer’s dancefloor filling production. Chock-full of wildlife samples, Noah is a thirteen minute cosmos of indigenous experimentation. 

“”Once upon a Time in Napoli” is the story of my twenty years in dance music. The album covers the many textures of this journey, with influences of the early days in Naples to my Circoloco residency in Ibiza. Ranging from the warmth of classic analogue synths to the crisp precision of digital beats” Davide Squillace.

The second half of the album starts off with a solid kick, How We Communicate has an otherworldly feel with gnarled vocals and energetic snares. Carrying on the lively vibe, Vostok isn’t for the fainthearted. Squillace incorporates filthy bass, mad klaxons, cowbells and a whole heap of variety into this exorbitant tune. Onto a slightly more minimal approach, Iron Odyseey is an exploration of sounds from dainty triangles to supernatural sounding samples. The gradual nature of Holy Motors leaves the listener hankering for more. Closing on a high, the final song of the album, The Sin Introducing Telemaco, is a majestic chill out track laced with a subtle melancholy.

Originally from Naples, Davide Squillace has cemented his position as a renowned DJ/Producer since first appearing on the scene back in 2004. A resident of iconic Ibiza institution Circoloco for over ten years, more recently Squillace can be found touring with Matthias Tanzmann and Martin Buttrich as one third of Better Lost Than Stupid. Well-known for his exceptional ability to pair music with visual arts, his “artistic think tank” and record label This And That Lab has provided a number of creatives with a much-needed production outlet, often calling on them for the likes of cover art. The album launches a massive year for Squillace and will be released on DLP and digital download.

Stefan Braatz - Bored feat. Eric D Clark 

Celebrating Poker Flat Recordings’ 200th single release, the iconic label invites Stefan Braatz to mark the occasion. Braatz has long been an important figure on the German house scene, and formed his own Adapter label way back in 2004. Here, he re-kindles his partnership with American-born- Cologne-based Eric D. Clark, with whom he released the well received 'Mon Amour' on Poker Flat in 2016.

This release shows why they love to collaborate - the bouncy, acid-tinged 'Bored' is the perfect environment for Clark’s cheeky, playful vocal.

The instrumental version is included for the DJs who want their cuts more stripped back for the floor, letting the crisp, funky flavours shine bright.

Joel Alter, the Swedish house and techno veteran based in Berlin is invited to share his own take on Bored, and delivers a typically deep and effective rework - paring down the elements, dubbing out the vocals and making the track truly his own.

Braatz also includes another new track - 'Resist' - which excels is his trademark tight, driving style. It's a superbly crafted deep house excursion that nods to the Chicago and Detroit styles that influenced Braatz’s early work.
