They say the best things come to those who wait. It’s been a year since Matador delivered the incredible Zoles EP but fever pitch anticipation from the techno community is rewarded not once but twice as Ireland’s global powerhouse delivers a slew of new productions that spills over into two packed EPs for Minus! The first wrapping up a stellar 2014 for the label and the second coming out as Spring starts to shine in March 2015.

It’s impossible to pick just one highlight from this 11 track odyssey of trademark Matador mind music. Just like a Matador live set, get locked into the first beat and follow the path right to the end. Enjoy the peaks and swirls and get lost within the beats. Road tested worldwide by the man himself and by Minus godfather Richie Hawtin, this package leaves nothing to chance on the dancefloor. As if this double EP couldn’t be better news for patient techno fans, word has it that there may well be more to follow from the Irish underground hero. Watch this space!

Raised on an African island, born and based in Lisbon, Rocky is a whirlwind of excitement and enthusiasm. She delivers high octane techno sets inspired by her diverse cultural background and passion for self-expression through music.

This four-tracker is yet another pivotal career moment for this exciting Portuguese artist, whose summer has included shows at Beachland, Free Your Mind Festival, and Dance Valley, where Pig & Dan saw her play for the first time; they loved her sound and quickly a friendship emerged over an equal love for music, resulting in them signing her to their ELEVATE imprint.

‘Rebirth’ the EP is a masterclass in old-school-influenced acid-sharpened bangers, gritty yet melodic. All four tracks mark the start of an exciting few months for Valente.

‘Unapologetic’ pulls you straight in, with a driving bass, piston-powered stabs and a scintillating top line, tied together with a soulful vocal loop. With ‘Under the Radar’, hi hats fizz through industrial clangs, building a contagious energy. ‘Background Story’ ramps up the intensity with a haunting top line and startling, scattered percussion, climbing to a peak before the pounding beat takes over. Last but not least, ‘Negotiation’ is the black sheep of this main-room-ready release. blaktone is back to Sincopat after their successful appearance in our BeenTouched series. Kepler Effect is the name of the EP including three original tracks by the talented duo from St. Petersburgh plus a solid by remix by techno heroes Teenage Mutants.
The opening track 'Definition of Love' is a crazy and organic burner that will leave the club completely devastated. It is a non-stop track where the sinister items and the hypnotic mood are presented in a perfect balance. Teenage Mutants takes the track to their perspective and offer another win that proves the talent of this German duo.'Uma I' is also a huge bomb for the dancefloor with the surprising synth after the breakdown. 'Last Train' is a delicate piece that takes to the next level the vocal electronic music, and a proof of this is the fantastic closing with the Ambient Mix.
