This week we welcome a Berlin based DJ who is rapidly gaining momentum on the international circuit, drummer / bassist / vocalist and now fully focused on electronic music, Nur Jaber runs the OSF Label, and owns Gate9 club in Beiruit, Lebanon. She is also a resident at Staub at the club "About Blank" in Berlin. Catch her next month at Nuits Fauves, Paris, Festival La Prevalaye, Renne & Berghain. Her next 12" EP  'Weapons of Mass Destruction' is out August 18th on OSF. Nur is one one of our ones to watch

Hyp 330: Yak

Courtesy is one of techno’s newest breakthrough stars. The Greenland born, Danish raised DJ, Ectotherm label boss and journalist first turned heads with some key online mixes in 2016 which showed she will reach for whatever works be that rave, electro or breaks. Since then she’s further established herself with her own regular NTS show and sets at key places like De School and Berghain, and in three weeks time she will play our festival in Sao Paolo.

To get in you on the mood for that she’s first turned out a new mix which, as usual from Courtesy, is characterised by fascinating contrasts. It’s high in energy from the off, and races through a number of styles of house and techno that ranges from twisted to dubbed out to ghetto. Getting ever-quicker as it goes, there’s a subtle sense that you’re building towards something throughout the set. It makes it an absorbing, high octane ride that never settles in once place but at the same time feels like one complete story.

Reclaim Your City 269 | Dyad

Born in 1990. Originally from Kochi prefecture, now residing in Tokyo. He started organizing his own nights in 2011 where he honed his dj skills. Playing anything from classic to cutting-edge tracks, his smooth mixing brings a unique tension and intonation to the ﬂoor through individualistic loops. By gaining his reputation through his dj sets and an insatiable pursuit of the techno scene led him to play regularly in Osaka as well as various venues in mid and West Japan. 
As an organizer he has brought over many prevalent modern techno artists such as Claudio PRC, Ness, Luigi Tozzi and Refracted, in order to evolve the techno scene in Japan. In 2014 he moved to Tokyo where he linked up with his main partner Kannabi to start the techno party Katharsis. 
In recent years his music production skills have ﬂourished, hence, set up the label Katharsis Recordings. The ﬁrst release is sprit 12 from the Label founder Masafumi Take and Kannabi. Also include Iori and Takaaki Itoh remix. The Second release will be out in May on vinyl. 
He is recognized as the next generation to take up the techno mantle in Japan.
