Soon after recording this music for piano and cello, I heard something unusual in the sound.  Though it was written in a language without words, the music spoke with compassion, a language that’s understood everywhere.  Such music is good medicine, as it helps us let go of our doubts and fears.  In fact, those unwelcome distractions add too many troubles to our minds.  But music can awaken our awareness that we’re not here for that.  We are here to touch each other’s hearts.  That is the source of our greatest redeeming value and our best reason for living.
