Created by DD in the morning of Friday  April 11th in Paris, Jazz ballad inspired on the lovely "First Song (for Ruth)  by Charlie Haden, following the instructions provided on this challenge:

Step 1: Choose a familiar song for which you have access to the sheet music.

Step 2: Select a segment of the song, perhaps one round of the chorus and the verse — perhaps more, or less, after you finish reading these instructions.

Step 3: Write down all the notes (and their lengths) in the main melodic line.

Step 4: Alphabetize the notes, and also sort them by length, in ascending order, so an Ab goes before an A, and a quarter note goes before a whole note, and so forth. (You might also adjust for where the note falls relative to middle C, starting low and proceeding up.)

Step 5: Record results when all those notes are played in the sequence that was derived during Step 4.

This is  a simple idea I've been practising today, recorded Thursday 8th may 2025 at noon, first and only take.

Inspired by the view out of the side window in the living room, looking out onto our back garden.
Recorded in a single take using a preset from Slate & Ash's Cycles processed with Output's Portal, with a bit of slow random modulation of Portal's parameters using Live's LFO Random. I pitched/slowed down the result slightly too.

A Small Window (disquiet700)

#4192 92.42% 344 left): Jun.6, 2025: Like the pale waters in their wintry race  (again, William Butler Yeats from May 22, 2025) 

Even the most analytical mind can be moved to reinterpret grief afresh.

　From the moment my fingers touch the ivory, “for these red lips with all their mournful pride” unfolds like a twilight reverie of sorrow-laden lips. In a few short measures, Chair House’s improvisational spirit flutters in, as if “anguish bathed in crimson” springs forth from the keys. What resonates is not a fleeting lament but the sudden rekindling of that “unforgettable longing” buried deep within the heart. The low tones creep in like a whispered sigh, while the delicate high notes quiver as if invoking tears. Each note carries a poignancy so profound it feels as though the dusk-tinged sky itself bleeds into sound.

So gently does the mind risk forgetting to embrace the rosy peace of dawn.

In “and softly make a rosy peace,” Chair House blends into the morning’s pale light, painting tranquility in soft sonic hues. A dewy, lingering touch evokes the scent of petals, kindling a quiet celebration within. On the drizzly dawn of 250518, this improvisation strikes the perfect balance of calm and tender nostalgia.
